I went to my doctor and she already told me to not eat after 7 p.m., to sit up after I eat, and to sit up in bed when I sleep. However, the pain is still really bad. I took Gas-X for bloating, and I've been taking my normal Acid Reflux meds. Any other suggestions for pain??? *I'm only 15, so no pain killer things or Asprin.

I had acid reflux also and my doctor prescribed medication to take each day. I didn't like the idea of taking medication everyday to treat something that I was not experiecing all the time, so I started looking into more natural (nutritional) methods. I am no longer on any acid reflux medication and acid reflux is not so much a problem anymore. When I occasionally get the reflux, I will use the Tums or a banana (the banana seems to work better for me.)
The steps that your doctor mentioned will definitely help. For diet, I started to look into more alkalizing foods (vegetables, whole fruits) and less acidifying foods (meats, dairy). My wife and I cut down on sugary sodas and juices to reduce acids. We also switched from highly processed or refined foods to more whole-grain or less processed foods...starchy foods that break down too fast tend to cause problems. For example, we cut down on white rice and switched to brown or wild rice; we no longer eat white bread, we favor steel-cut oatmeal over instant oatmeal, etc.
As for your stomach pains, be sure to check if you are lactose intolerant (I had a problem with this also...I wish I knew this when I was 15.) Dietary Supplements like Lactaid will help, but only to a certain level. Eating a cup of yogurt a day will ultimately help with your digestion and maybe even build your tolerance back up...avoid the yogurts with too much sugar. I usually get the yogurt with the fruit on the bottom so that I can control how much of that sweet portion mixes into the yogurt...most of the sweet portion doesn't get consumed.
Hope this helps

I've been taking Prilosec for years. I don't have the H-pylori thing. I was tested for that. I ran out of Prilosec a week ago and thought maybe I didn't need it anymore. I woke up the next day sick as anything. It's acid reflux and that's the best medicine that I've taken for it. It's over the counter, or if your prescription plan covers it, then it's even better.

Chronic heartburn is usually from acid reflux - stomach acid is getting past the little valve and into your esophagus. You also should know some natural ways to treat your heartburn. Learn them here https://bitly.im/aMAQ6
The most immediate thing you can do is to stop drinking coffee and cola. Smoking is not good either, but that might be harder to stop. Don't over-eat. Don't lie down too soon after eating. Don't burp too much - this carries acid up with the burp.
heartburn the most common symptom of acid reflux disease (also known as gastroespohageal reflux disease, or GERD). Heartburn feels like a burning pain in the center of the chest. It is caused by acid from the stomach backing up into the esophagus. is a symptom of acid reflux disease (GERD) Also known as Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

Fortunately there are many treatments available for acid reflux. Antacids are usually the first port of call for many acid reflux sufferers. For short term and infrequent attacks of acid reflux, these provide much needed temporary relief. However, as a long term solution they are not suitable and alternatives should be sought. Any sufferer of regular acid reflux should keep a diary of everything they eat and drink. Over time, patterns can be established and many people report elimination or reduction of acid reflux symptoms after changing their diet accordingly to eliminate problematic food or drink. If dietary changes have little or no effect, there are various families of drugs that are available over the counter and on prescription.

I was in the same situation as yours. One day I saw a program on TV about Honey, so i started to take one spoon in the morning and one in the afternoon, then afterwords I replaced sugar by honey in my morning tea, since then my acid and stomach pains has gone completely. have a try on it, may be I'm wrong but there is nothing to loose. Good luck.

Get your doctor to test for H-pylori. This can cause acid reflux and is the general cause of ulcers which can cause stomach pain. Usual treatment for H-pylori is with an antibiotic regimen.

get tested for H-Pylori. It is a simple blood test. My son had the same symptoms as you describe. For three years he was on different meds. Finally one did blood work. Two weeks of antibiotics and he was a new kid.
