Why do people generally blame God for the bad things that happen? Why is it that people expect God to fix their problems and when He doesn't they get angry? In any relationship, you must bring something to the table, with God this is you in your entirety with all the dings and scratches. He takes this "broken" you and beats out the dings and buffs out the scratches. So why do people expect to recieve gifts from God when they haven't envited Him into their hearts and lives?

I have heard many people when something bad happens say, "Where was God". Then when something good happens God was not involved. The craziest thing I see is people who claim to not believe in God, blaming Him. . .go figure.

It takes humility to admit that we as humans are our own problem. The world we live in today is how we have made it to be.

Generally people don't want to be responsible for the bad stuff that happens to them. Maybe they have lung cancer as a result of smoking or heart disease through eating fatty food. It's easier to say God did this, than to say I did this. When we lose loved ones many of us blame God for taking them but most probably that was the best thing that could have happened for the loved one. God is an easy target I guess when the only other person who could be blamed is yourself.
I don't believe God takes us and beats out the dings. I believe we are all born perfect and are exactly what we were meant to be. By judging others we judge God's creation and lets face it - could we have done a better job?

Because seeing as God created everything then he created an imperfect human race in which people can be extremely unhappy and suffer an awful lot.

I expect there are many devout Christians who's lives are plauged by suffering even though they have "brought to the table" their heats and souls to God. Or are you saying that when bad things happen to Christians, these people aren't Christian?

Also, when a person who you like a little asks you for a little help you dont mind putting in a little effort. When someone who means a lot asks you for a lot, you put a lot of effort in. Since God is omnipotent, he does not expend any effort in performing an acton; to do so would imply he is not omnipotent. Seeing as how he could make our lives so much better without even putting the tiniest bit of effort in, you can appreciate why some people fail to believe in him, or at least think he is being selfish or petty.

I was Christian and brought plenty. I got disillusioned at a loving deity killing and creating hell. Mind you, not angry.
Why do some people give credit where it's not due? Why do they have the need to believe they are all worthless except for this supposed 'love' from a being that is contradictory and unseen, unprovable.
When something bad happens, I blame the course of nature, sometimes luck. But not someone elses' imaginary friend.

Bad things generally happen for two reasons: the forces of nature that we can not control or the actions of humans.

Blaming God is a cop out.

Why do people thank God for the good things?

It flows both ways. If God is responsible for a man's success, then he is also responsible for a man's failure.

Personally, I think it's a cop-out to blame or thank God. A man makes his destiny on his own. Thanking God for being good at something is really an insult to your own talents. And if you are on a team, then thanking God is simply a huge slap in the face of the teammates who got you there.

I agree with you that people should stop relying on God as a crutch. God will not fix your life. That task is up to you.

For the same reason they believe in god in the first place!! They need a crutch to make it through life. Which is all fine and dandy, but you can't blame the crutch when you trip over your own feet. Start taking responsibility for your own lives people.

I blame mankind for the evil in this world.

Personally, if something bad happens to me, I probably deserved it. If something good happens, it's by the grace of God.

People need someone to blame so I guess God gets it...God doesn't make bad things happen,he is just there to help if you ask and believe. Most people today don't get that concept.

People don't want to take personal responsibility and be held accountable for their own selves so they try to blame God.
