I'm confused about the "news facts" presented. Apparently they were training with "automatic weapons", but they were also trying to buy automatic weapons. So which was it? Did they have automatic weapons or not?
Certainly all terrorists are evil and should be sent to jail. Probably these guys were planning to cause some major damage at Ft. Dix. But, have you ever been to Ft. Dix? It is a large military installation with lots of highly trained military people, who are armed with real weapons. How did these bozo idiot terrorists think they could cause major damage to Ft. Dix? Now it seems that maybe they didn't even have automatic weapons (or did they) after all. The whole incident will make the FBI look ridiculous if there isn't more solid information forthcoming.

Yes. The FBI is NOT ridiculous for trying to stop terrorists. But all of this is looking a little shaky, alsmost as if it is yet another act of "mass distraction" on the part of our government. I still believe that the FBI is highly professional, and that they must have some additional information they are not giving us at this time.

The men trained by playing paintball in the woods in New Jersey and taking target practice at a firing range in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains, where they had rented a house, authorities said.
"We believe they are their own cell," said Christie. "They are inspired by international terror organizations. I believe they saw themselves as part of that."
Fort Dix last was in the international spotlight in 1999, when it sheltered more than 4,000 ethnic Albanian refugees during the NATO bombing campaign against Yugoslavia.
In addition to plotting the attack on Fort Dix, the defendants spoke of assaulting a Navy installation in Philadelphia during the annual Army-Navy football game and conducted surveillance at other military installations in the region, prosecutors said.
After the video clerk's tip, investigators said they infiltrated the group with two informants and bided their time while they secretly recorded the defendants.
The six were arrested Monday night trying to buy AK-47 assault weapons, M-16s and other weapons from an FBI informant, authorities said. It was not clear when the alleged attack was to take place.

There is a lot of suspicion after the "Dirty bomber" was held for years and then not charged. Ignoring the 800 year tradition of habeas in English common law (article 9 in the US Constitution and in the Bill of Rights) gave the Pres the power of a monarch. But we have to believe that the rank and file law enforcement are doing their job.
For the first time in a long while old glory looked pretty good blowing in the breeze as I walked by yesterday.

They were training with paintball guns and attempting to purchase automatic weapons.
I do not think the FBI is ridiculous for catching these people. Even with armed guards they would have been able to cause some damage.
I cannot wait to see Chuck Schumer demanding that paintball guns be banned.

Actually RPG's were on the menu too.
So it's already started huh? Seeing responses that these criminals were just patsies set up by the bad ol' Bush administration.
I'm not a huge Bush fan, but why do so many people hate him to the extent they support terrorism ON OUR OWN GROUND rather than back him up on this?
/None dare call it treason....
