can't open .rtf files in outlook?

Question

I also can't save them to the computer from Outlook. However, I can open other .rft files as long as they don't come from Outlook. The Outlook files are not corrupt- they work fine when forwarded to someone else.

All other files work fine, so why not the .rft extensions? Any other ideas than Outlook needs to be re-installed?

When you try to do this, Outlook gives you an error message.

.RTF = Rich Text format it's like a cut down - inter program variant on a word processing file.

Open them in W O R D not outlook.

However if you use outlook express you may been to check the security settings to make sure that it allows you to open attachments like .XLS and .DOC which I think are turned off by default

Sounds kind of odd, but .rtf files can only be opened with Word pad or another word processing program.
