You people are asking for details come to India then, there are many cases registered against these people.
I know the Christians in USA and Europe send these men and they fund them heavily to do these things.

I dont know Jesus asked to do charity but not to expect anything from the poor, but now modern christians have redefined Jesus that if they help you that means you have to repay by converting yourself to Christianity.

The 17th answer from a lady, she is threatening me for getting this incident.
Let me tell you in India lot of christian conversion is happening becasue India is a Secular state and I am very proud of it, not even USA is secular. The thing is 99% of people who get converted are poor people, guess why exploitation of their poverty, black mail. what proof do you want if you want to support your men then Let Jesus Himself come to punish you all.

The answer from conranger is a classic example of diverting the issue by calling caste system, you are not willing to act those men but want to divert the things, great Jesus will definitely love you.

Dear Happy Guy, you have to know this thing u mention is going on throughout the whole African Continent as well. The ones responsible are always hard to find but its not the casual citizens, although this whole thing is based upon their naiveness. Their faith is true and of good nature, but they simply cannot believe that such things, especially through religion could happen. The methods unfortunately have not changed a lot since the Days of the Conquistadors; approach the helpless poor and promise them a world they have never seen or lived before. Even if one has basic or even higher education, with no hope and under such conditions, sooner or later will break under the pressure. As to the rest of those who replied and find it hard to believe such things happen, throughout the world there have been many such cases. All you have to do is keep your eyes and ears "open". You dont need proof just like when you started believing in your God. Why do you think that poor people from parts of the world you dont even have the clue to where they could be, are always lying to you so as to cast a shade to your country and religion.
"Live and let live" rather than "rule and destroy so you can live".

Because I have not seen one single documented case of this. This is a myth stirred up by people mad that others convert to Christianity.
I have studied it and found no bases in truth.
Nobody is forced into becoming a Priest or a Nun, that is ridiculous. Do you have any idea how much preparation Priests have to go through to be ordained? Years and years, you cannot force anyone to go through that.
Why would the Church want a bunch of Priests preaching that did not even want to be Catholic? Do you realize how far out in left field that concept is?
Would Muslims force Christians to be Imam's against their will, Heck no.
There is no compulsion in Religion, that is why in Christian Countries, ALL faiths are free to preach (and do) in our Streets, Schools, and even in our Prisons.
Does that sound like a faith that is forcing people to join?
Are Christians free to preach in ALL other Countries?
What would happen to me as a Christian, if I were to go to Iran and spend time Preaching Christianity openly in their Prisons and in their Schools???????
Don't believe all that you are told.
Peace!
P.S.
Are you sure that they are "Forcing" these people to convert? Christians do help the poor, and because of the Love shown, you can't be suprised when some of these people do convert.
I am thinking that these stories get made up or greatly exagerated by other Religious leaders that are mad when people leave and move to Christianiaty, even voluntarily.
And the story of forcing kids to become Priests proves to me that this is at least a great embelishment of the facts.
Peace and God Bless.

I am a christian and DO NOT fund these... I searched and could not find a specific missionary program in India that says it supports indentured slavery... if you put the name of the missionary group you are talking about up here, perhaps we could change it instead of just writing about it. I am all for change and for letting people pick their own religion, this is slavery and that is wrong no matter what the cause, give some real information so we can make a change please!

Sadly there will always be people who exploit others and many who bring Jesus Christ into disrepute. Jesus himself said, 'Not everyone who calls me Lord, Lord will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, only the one who does the will of my Father God in Heaven' You also need to know that there are so many genuine Christians who would not dream of treating others like this and who lay down their lives every day to love and care for those less fortunate. The fact that you say they are trying to convert them into nuns or priests would indicate that they are Roman Catholic and in no way typical of all Christians.

u r absolutely right. the same thought has occured to my mind several times.its disgusting to see people doing such things in God's name. they kind of force the poor in the rural areas n tht too in the name of religion. horrible! yes "exploitation" is the right word. i wish to ask these so called missionaries as to y they tempt people to convert by giving them the hope that they will get two square meals?Did Jesus ever teach manipulation? what kind of charity is this? that u provide food , money etc on the condition that those people become Christians. Whenever there is a famine u r happier seeing people starving until they have to come to ur door for food? arent the non Christians humans? Is there suffering less pricking than those of the Christians?or they must not be pitied because they are not Christians?
I know many Christians will use arguements such as they do it for the good of the downtrodden, redeem them, it helps the poor spiritually n so on but all this is sheer nonsense. COLONIALISM still exists in India through such proponents of the western world. They certainly dont represent Christianity but r the culprits of Christianity, humanity n God.
AND GAP N OTHERS WHO R SAYING THAT THE QUESTIONER IS MISINFORMED, WHAT ANSWER DO U HAVE WHEN I TELL U THAT THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED WITH MY DOMESTIC HELP. A PROMINENT INDIAN POET LIKE EZEKIEL HAS TALKED ABOUT ALL THIS HAPPENING TO HIS FAMILY. WHAT WOULD U SAY ABOUT IT? N THERE IS PAIN IN HIS POETRY WHEN HE TALKS OF HOW HIS GRANDFATHER HAD TO CONVERT TO CHRISTIANITY IN ORDER TO SAVE HIMSELF FROM STARVING.
CONGRATULATIONS TO U FOR SPEAKING THE TRUTH.

I'm not sure who "you people" are, but I'll venture an answer to your question anyway.
I have never heard of such a thing from a major church's missionary program. I doubt its validity. If you could provide some details other than "you people" and "many Christian missionaries in India", I could probably respond more effectively.

Fundamentalist Christians believe that they have been commanded by Christ to go and "save" (convert) the people of this world. This is also supposed to give them special merit when it comes to the day of final judgment. While there are many Christians who today do not believe in this exclusivity, there are a still large number of misguided Christians who still believe in the exclusivity of Christianity and the concept of saving souls.
It is this misguided belief that breeds a hatred and intolerance for other religions. and from this hatred, these Christian Fundamentalists begin their aggression to convert.
And often they will go to any means to convert even if it means violence. This website
"http://www.christianaggression.org/about_need.php"
seeks to educate the world about the atrocities that conversions bring and to bring this aggressive nature of Christianity to an end.
But your line stating "Fathers" and "Nuns" are implying Catholicism, and that I am not sure. I feel fairly confident it is the Fundamentalist Christians. Not Catholics.

Fair illustration way that each one must have a voice, even the "devout". Furthermore, if any person has all of the credentials and ability for the activity of management, why must they be disallowed for the reason that they have got "devout" convictions? That turns out like discrimination to me! How so much must be as much as the citizens, rely the ballots and that's what we now have.........I get dismayed whilst I learn a publish wherein any person wants to preserve faith out of politics. Are they suggesting that a devout individual merits no voice, no illustration, NO VOTE? These are the equal persons who name Christians "illiberal" on a everyday foundation! It isn't a church or "the church" who runs for workplace, it's an character.......why must it intent worry if that character occurs to be a individual who has religion? From my chair it isn't that we could have a "devout chief", however alternatively we could have a "chief who occurs to be devout".

Was it also Jesus aim to practically force people to give money to the "church" when all it's giving to is the personal gain of the preachers and priests of that religion? Ever hear about that air-conditioned dog house bought by that one "religious" man?

Dont post questions including alleged facts that you cannot prove, dosent do you any good and dosent help prove your alleged case.
No children can be a priest (under 18).
But then you live in a country with a caste system where people are killed for crossing the dividing line of caste
