Marc Cohn's "True Companion", Bruce Hornsby's "The Show Goes On", and the theme song from "The Princess Bride" by Mark Knopfler.
I used those. It confused some guests, but those are good ones with great words.

Melt with you (I'll stop the world and melt with you) is a great 80's dance/mod song by Modern English. I can't find a decent copy of the video online so I'm linking you to Jason Mraz's version which is less dancy, but still gives you an idea of the sound and lyrics. The video chosewn by the user is bad, so ignore it.

Edit: I hope the thumbs down wasn't from Stephen ;o)

Try to think of songs that mean something to you as a couple. For example, when my friend got married she and her hubby danced to "Carolina on my mind" by James Taylor. Not because it was their "song" but because they met in South Carolina. It was cute. My hubby and I had a song, so it was easy for us. If you want something kinda alternative I think "Green Eyes" by Coldplay is a good one. But, ultimately it has to be a song that means something to you guys. Think of bands/artists you listened to or songs you liked when you started dating. Start listening to your cd's and you'll eventually come across something that's perfect for you.
Sorry if this isn't a good enough answer for you, but it might mean a lot more to you as a couple if you two pick your song together instead of taking someone else's song.

Barry White, 1st, Last , Everything. Its more upbeat and stil gets the message of how much you love each other. I loved the song we danced to but we caved to pressure and didn't go upbeat. Hope you find your song.

the song my fiance and i will be dancing to at our wedding is gavin degraw's "more than anyone"... it's a very classy, yet not very traditional song. perfect for a first dance :)
You need a friend
I'll be around
Don't let this end
Before I see you again
What can I say to convince you
To change your mind of me?
I'm gonna love you more than anyone
I'm gonna hold you closer than before
And when I kiss your soul, your body'll be free
I'll be free for you anytime
I'm gonna love you more than anyone
Look in my eyes, what do you see?
Not just the color
Look inside of me
Tell me all you need and I will try
I will try
I'm gonna love you more than anyone
I'm gonna hold you closer than before
And when I kiss your soul, your body'll be free
I'll be free for you anytime
I'm gonna love you more than anyone
Free for you, whenever you need
We'll be free together, baby
Free together, baby
I'm gonna love you more than anyone
I'm gonna hold you closer than before
And when I kiss your soul, your body'll be free
I'll be free for you anytime
I'm gonna love you more than anyone
I'm gonna love you more than anyone

Maybe this sounds cheesy, but you could try "Could I have this dance?" by Anne Murray. It contains a waltz beat so you could actually ballroom dance to it.
