I live across the Hudson in Rockland county and want to bring my bicycle into Manhattan, specifically to Battery Park on a Sunday for a fund raising ride, and don't want to drive in and park. Also, my legs can't take riding all the way from Rockland ;) I was wondering if there are any public transportation options. Thanks!

Yes there are. You can take your bike on Metro North on non-peak hours. You will need to go to Grand Central and buy a bike permit for the train first though. I think it costs around $5 but it's good for a year.
