As long as the drunk driver has insurance, then yes your vehicles damages should be covered under the liability portion of the drunk driver's insurance policy. If you don't have that info - try to get the police report - otherwise, if you have absolutely no ID on the other party - you have no outlet to pursue.

Depends greatly on state law if you are in the US.

In Connecticut, you can't have one tire touching a roadway unless you are fully registered, and in our state, that also means carrying the mandated insurance.

Let's adjust to a situation that works even for Connecticut. The road it was parked on is a private road, such as in a condominium association.

Who are you collecting from? Certainly not your insurance carrier, you don't have one. You need to go after the drunk driver's insurance company. However, if you find a lawyer, you will probably be given advice just to bring civil suit against the driver, and have him worry about anything with his insurance company - if he even had one!

I just really don't like some of the answers you're getting. New Hampshire, for example, doesn't require you to have auto insurance to be registered. Regardless of this!! - Your property was damaged. Two wrongs don't make a right, aye? If you have to pay a parking ticket for having an uninsured vehicle on the road, admit to it, and pay it - because then you can still get renumerations from the driver for his wrong.

The fault was the drunk driver's. If they had insurance and you know their insurance information, make a claim against their policy. If their insurance doesn't want to pony up, get a lawyer. It doesn't matter if you have insurance or not. ( Maybe you weren't driving it because you had no insurance, but had it parked on the street? ;-) The damage to your vehicle should be covered under the property damage portion of their policy.

Yes, your personal property was damaged. You will have to sue the insurance company of the driver of the other car, however your not having insurance may be a sticking point.
YOu may want to consult with a lawyer.

Hate to break it to you but no... if your car is parked in the street with no insurance, it shouldnt even be there. You can't collect for it being in the street and someone hitting it without you having insurance.... if it was on your property then you might have been able to...
