she is a bengal cat and, i think, 11 years old. she hasnt been eating much lately. she has however, been drinking a lot of water, and when she throws up it is mostly water. she also looks like she has lost a pound or so, which is considerable for a cat, and seems to lack energy. any insight is greatly appreciated.

She could be in the beginning stages of diabetes or thyroid issues. She needs a vet appointment to have bloodwork done to see what's going on. I would get that done asap (like by the weekend).

It has been my experience that cats do not stop eating and drinking for no reason at all, I guess my question would be did your vet do any bloodwork on your cat to check for kidney or liver issues and did he check his thyroid level? Did he have his teeth checked for obvious dental decay or does he have any oral ulcers? Is your cat indoor only? or does he go outdoors?, is there a chance he could have been exposed to either feline leukemia or feline aids? These are some of the things that I would certainly ask your vet if your pet is really no better than before. Good luck to you and your kitty.

She needs to have her kidney function checked. Did she happen to eat any of the pet foods that were recalled? At 11 some kidney disease might just be a symptom of aging. She needs to see a vet for some blood tests.

Sounds like it could be kidney failure, especially based on her age. There's been a rash of it around the country lately linked to the pet food recall.
Get her to the vet ASAP.

Excessive thirst and weight loss may be signs of a severe gastrointestinal problem or a disease like diabetes. You need to get your cat to a vet as soon as you can. Good luck.

Does it get much fresh air? Pets need exercise and attention. Often it's not enough that they walk around the house, My dog did the same thing, a couple of days of exercise and playing with it, it was back on it's feet being a dog again.

Get her to the vet for a blood test, you must check her kidney and liver function, and blood sugar. If diagnosed early, she can live even with those conditions with proper diet.
