Sesame Street, Reading Rainbow, and programs such as these are great. Also if you have a VCR or DVD player, your local library usually has numerous educational films on hand in the Children's Department. Also there you will be able to access thousand of books, tapes, and such. The library is a wonderful tool when seeking knowledge! Happy learning!!

My daughter loves Dora. It teaches a lot of different things. Everything from Math (adding and counting) to Spanish. Like the other person said look for the Noggin Channel. It's got tons of educational shows.

I personally like Kumon Math and Reading Centers. In math, Your child will start off with the fundamentals of adding and subtracting, building up their foundations before they advance to higher level math. I've been through both the math and reading program there and also works there. It works!
I'm a math major now and I don't think I would have had the speed or the confidence I have now if it wasn't for Kumon. The reading portion also helps with analyzing novels, poetries and plays. And believe me, it REALLY helps in College.
Hope this helps! ^-^

Sesame Street and sitting with them when they watch it. ( or any educationals programs that they watch.) Reading a story with different voices according to the characters and let them complete the sentences to make sure they are listening. Try Aesop Fables and the ones with moral stories. And what is more educational when parents teach them how to clean their bedrooms, clean their rooms and helping in the kitchen. :-) Simple ideas. Hope this helps Michelle.

I agree with this statement "Reading to them and being involved as a parent"
Stay involved with your kids at school. Spend time with them every day and always read to them at least 10 minutes a day.

Nothing can really compare to you. finding a software program that encourages kids are usually good. My 7 year old get excited when the bear comes out and tells her what a great job she's done.( he sings her name and dances)
