Dried fruit and nuts - no sugar added (Trader Joes has great ones) but keep serving size to 1/4 C
Whole wheat pitas - great with hummus or salsa. I like to cut them into triangles, spray or brush with olive oil, and add garlic salt. Then, toast them in the oven at 400 degrees- 4 minutes on one side and 2 minutes on the other. This gives me that "snack" feeling without the guilt
Pure Protein Strawberry Shortcake and Blueberry Crisp bars are among my favorites. Luna bars are also great. Pria hundred calorie bars came highly recommended by my dietitian.
Trader Joes has Soy Crisps that I use when I want potato chips.
Kashi Good Friends cereal has a muffin recipe on the back of the box. I make this with extra banana, add nuts and raisins. They taste great, are about 100 calories each, and are packed with fiber and protein.
I also replace "cheese and crackers" (an old favorite for me) with Kavli flat bread and Laughing Cow light cheese wedges.
Good luck

HI Amanda,
the best way to start on that flat stomach is to combine a regular exercise routine (aerobics, walking, running, stairs, treadmill, etc) with a controlled diet. As far as snacking, consider adding water, iced tea or lite juice to natural foods such as fruit, nuts, popcorn (no butter) peanut butter on bread(1 slice) and perhaps lite yogurt.
These will give you a comfort while you are in a long stretch between meals and boost you without extra fatty calories or sugar.
Best of luck!

Exercise is good... but diet is most of it, you're right. Try eating protein snacks when you're hungry (hard boiled egg, a piece of cheese, a small handful of nuts) these will keep your blood sugar level and reduce your cravings. Best of all, you will lose weight around the middle first this way. Stay away from anything white and refined (flour, sugar) You will see results fast if you stick with it!

You can eat Special K cereal and meal bars. They have this one called fruit and yogurt cereal and it's wonderful. They also have snack bars. Down the cereal aisle, they have 100 calorie packs so try those.
