The wearing of earrings by men began with the pirates. The earring was either solid gold or silver. This designated the wealth upon the individual pirate. In many cases, earrings were used in trade with the Indians in the USA and citizens in other lands. Some burials were paid for by the earring.
In today's society, it use used for appearance?? I don't believe that a guy should wear an earring in each ear. It doesn't do much for appearance. Several sports figures wear a tiny gem earring in one ear that isn't so bad. I asked many guys that wear earrings if they knew the original use of mens wearing them. Nine out of ten did not know.
Unfortunaley, they aren't thinking how they might look when they begin to age. HIDE THE MIRRORS

Now see its people like this that aggravate me! I'm a woman and a Christian…..and I want my husband to get a piercing in his ear. How is that wrong or immoral? I myself have six piercings in my ears, and never once has that inhibited my ability to drop to my knees and talk to my Father. I was raised in a home that if you wore anything other then a skirt or dress, short sleeves, any type of jewelry other then a wedding band (and it had to be plain), makeup, you were going to hell. I was also taught that cutting my hair, dying my hair, painting my nails, listening to anything other then gospel music, and a ton of other stuff was a sin and a straight ride to hell. And why was I raised like that way? Closed minded people like this. Well you know what I don’t think your appearance in any way dictates what kind of person you are unless God deals with you on it. If a man wants to wear earrings then that’s fine. That does in NO way mean he is immoral. It means he has a different fashion sense then you! As for the ‘pink club’ perhaps you should talk to your shrink about why every time you see a guy with an earring your thoughts go to his sexuality.

Isn't it just style? People are just expressing how they like to dress. Earrings are just another fashion. Just because a man has an earring, doesn't mean that he is 'a member of the pink team.' Though this used to be true 10, 20, 30 years ago, currently it is just a personal style and doesn't mean anything =)
By the way, many men in early civilizations or cultures wore earrings (such as many African tribe members and ancient Egyptians) as a fashion - earrings are just an accessory, not necessarily representative of anything, but to each his own =)

"Immoral"? According to whom? Who died and made you the almighty arbiter of men's fashion and grooming? And why do you care so much about what other grown men choose to where or style their hair? Not your life. Not your business.
BTW, ripping out another guys earring is generally considered assault in most states. Most of the bikers I know, many of whom work in law inforcement and who also wear multiple earrings, would probably explain this to you after beating the crap out of you and then arresting you if you tried to rip out someone's earring. You may be better off leaving the nice earring wearing, long haired guys alone.

For mine it was a fashion statment, it was just being a part of the group, long hair and ear rings, it don't make you or break you. And it sure in the sam hill don't make a straight guy gay or a member of the pink team as you call it. as I said mine there is nothing pink team about them, and today they no longer wear them they have kids of their own and they to are going through it as well..And they are all married to a female and have many many kids, for alot of them its a fashion statmenet and don't mean much of nothing, just got to learn to deal with it, it will go away..

Well you know most people don't really care what you think Colson.
Having one's ears pierced has to do with the fashion of the times, some people just like getting pierced. It isn't a sign of homosexuality if that's what you are thinking.
Also, you can't be for women having their ears pierced and not allow men to do the same. According to your own holy book, it says all piercings are "evil". Luckily not very many people follow the ramblings of bronze age sheep herders these days.

Would love to see you walk into a full on biker bar and say that to some 6 1/2 foot biker with long hair.
Even better you walk into said biker bar calling them all girlie men and grab the hair of the biggest one and cut off his hair saying now you look like a man.
Once the stunned silence ended out of sheer shock that someone would dare be that stupid...
Think whats left of you would be fed to the dogs.
Look mate lack of earings and some dull short haircut dont make you male mate gays have short haircuts too you know
And being gay is not immoral either
Think if you tried to go into a biker bar and rip out earings the bikers would ripp off something of yours after which you really wont be able to say you are a man as missing somewhat vital parts of manhood

I don't think ear piercing for guys is as big as it once was...
But it's a personal choice. What if someone wanted to hurt you for some personal choice you made?
Maybe something you do makes you look like a member of the "pink team"
Let's not be quick to judge people for something they did when they were young, okay?

Cultural bias is not a reason to demand compliance. Throughout history the physical appearance of acceptabilty has changed.
Do you wear a robe? You must, Jesus did. And it is sinful for a man to dress as a woman is it not? So any guy in pantaloons must be sinning.

I agree completely! Men who wear earrings are clearly not really men.
While we're at it I think that women shouldn't be allowed to wear glasses. It just makes them look like they're trying to be smart and intellectual. You know, like they want to read or something. Reading is something only men should be allowed to do. Women shouldn't be allowed to read anything but the Bible and a cookbook.
