Hello everyone. I am having difficulty finding therapy I need despite seeking mental health professionals and various physicians. I have been diagnosed with "Depressive Disorder NOS" (w/ possible Seasonal Affective Disorder), "Anxiety Disorder NOS" (w/ symptoms of PTSD, Social Anxiety Disorder, Phobias, etc.), possible Asperger's (nobody ruled conclusively either way), and one doctor noted I was "avoidant" but decided not to put Avoidant Personality Disorder for now. I also have to deal with a sleep disorder (possible mild narcolepsy and circadian rhythm disruption), chronic discomfort and acute pain, seizure like symptoms (non-epileptic seizures?), and a few other problems. The combination of the multitude of issues from the past and present have consumed me yet I seem to never get anywhere w/ finding adequate assistance for one reason or another. Does anyone have any ideas?

Wow. You seem to have a lot going on. If you have been diagnosed with SO many disorders, chances are, you have not been properly diagnosed.

When someone's disorder is difficult to identify, he or she may accrue multiple diagnosis from various doctors who are stumped. This is confusing for the person attempting to seek help!

My suggestion would be to ditch the labels, find a therapist that YOU like and are comfortable with, and stick with that person. Time will allow him or her to sort out your symptoms and come up with a proper, accurate diagnosis.

Again, diagnosis aren't the end all, be all. You feeling ok, and getting help is what counts!

You need to make sure that what you are wanting is to feel better. Some people get scared of change and will stay where they are. Ask yourself "Are there any advantages to having the diagnoses." What would happen if you go better. By the way Asperger's is the latest fad to label people with

I've got as many labels as you do, if not more, but I decided that I would take one, the seasonal affective disorer, and work on it so I moved to New Mexico. My stupid therapist said I was trying to run away from my problems but that wasn't it. I just knew that I needed more sunshine in order to function.

It's really helped with my depression. I'm not saying that I am "cured" but I don't feel like spending every day in bed anymore.

Take one thing you want to change and work on it, don't let the multi-labels daunt you. Good luck to you!

i have already suggested to another person to look into seretonin, this a natrural product, it helps with alot of things, have a look on the net, but you cannot take this if you are already on prescribed medication, i think it is worth a look, i also think this stuff should be put into the drinking water, best of luck
