There are no "athiests."

They believe their view in exactly the same way as you do, however the Athiest assumption is that a really old book containing stories, written by people who they themselves heard from people who were never actually there about something that there is no real or actual proof ever happened...MAY POSSIBLY not be true.

Are you sure that your translation, your modern day interpretation, your dogmatic belief is the absolute truth? If yes, then good for you, but please dont assume that others are wrong.

Atheist: Someone who does not believe in God or Gods.

Even if you could construe that as being a negative belief, then Atheists know very much about the idea of "there not being a God".

What you say implies that you know God, which seems very high and mighty of you, I thought the whole point was that God was so powerful that no man could possibly know him, and yet you claim to?

Please, reveal your secret.

Ha ha ha ha, funniest question yet. I am an atheist not through belief.....ha ha ha that was the funny bit....but through logic and reason. Christians who hide behind a text instead of questioning and exploring life, believe it or not, were the direct influence in my life for going off on avenues of exploration. One of those avenues has involved academia and academia involved archaeology, anthropology and the messages of history. Now that is a record I can turn to and form ideas of my own. Not blindly quote references from a doctrine or rather a dogma.

Thanks for the laugh.

No can't say that I "believe" in anything that I know nothing about, but from that scripture it sure sounds like Christians shouldn't or don't know anything about Christ, except that he reveals a god who had already revealed himself to his people many times - weird huh?

I (an atheist) don't depend on pat little biblical quotations to get me around things I don't understand. I like to find the answers myself and explore reasons far beyond the limitations of little passages in a fiction book.

athiest believe in only what we know.
we know life evolved
we know that genetics is the main drive in all organisms
we know that the universe took billions of years to form, even the earth is about 4,000,000,000 years old not 10,000.
these are scientific facts and we know these are true so it's not a case of believing or not because it will always be so.

The quote does not tell you anything. You pretend to gain some knowledge from that quote, that's all.
