Treatment depends on the cause.
If it is an infection (STD, forgetting to remove a tampon) you need antibiotics and maybe cauterization (burning) of the area to heal it.
If it is trauma (lots of sex or douches) stop doing those things. Cautery may still be needed.
Estrogen cream may be prescribed to thicken the surface if it is traumatized easily.
Your doc, who probably told you about the erosion in the first place, can tell you how to treat.
As far as risk of having children, again, it depends on the severity. If there is severe scarring due to the erosion, it could make childbearing more difficult. If caught early and no scarring takes place, then you won't have any consequences.
Talking to your doctor is the best way to clear this all up, but can certainly understand wanting to have questions to ask prior to your next visit. Sometimes it is hard to think about everything you need to by yourself prior to walking in.

ok i had this when i was 23 and the reason it got so bad is because i never went for regular smears,i had CIN 3 which is the worst type of erosion/abnormality,CIN 1 being mild.i had an operation called a cone biopsy and which is where they cut a cone shape from the affected area and laser around it,i had a general anasthtic for this.i also worried how this would affect my chances of pregnancy and was told i may have to have a stitch put in my cervix later on in the pregnancy as the cervix could be weakened due to the surgery, but that it shouln,t affect my chances of conceiving.I am happy to say i have had 2 totally healthy pregnancies without the need for the stitch and it didnt affect my fertility at all,i am however not happy to say i havn, tbeen for a smear test for 6 years yes i know i am completley stupid, but having answered your question i will now book an appointment.good luck and i hope this helped

I had this when I was in my 20's , it originally was tiny but progressed to having pre-cancerous cells and had it cauterized with a laser. Since then I have had no trouble at all. Better to get it sorted now rather than leave it.

Please go and see your doctor as soon as possible. No, it won't go away on its own. Yes, it needs treating and it can be treated. I know it's embarrassing but grit your teeth and do it or you're going to cause yourself even more anguish than you're going through already.

it needs cauterizing as it probably wont heal on its own and could turn nasty
