You're correct! They have disobeyed Christ command not to seek the date for the return of Christ.
Also did you know that their Watchtower‘s position in 1967 disallowed kidney transplants. This was reversed in 1980. During the 1930's and 1940's Watchtower publications denounced vaccination. Reversed. Sadly, they still have a ban on blood transfusions, and people have died. Sick!

"The end of 6,000 years of human history is an interesting chronological milestone, but with no real theological importance." Really?
It has been used by JW's to give credence to their predictions that Armageddon is imminent. This is because they claim Armageddon must occur after the end of 6,000 years of human history and before the millennium reign of Christ, which comes after Armageddon. That is why this "chronological milestone" is so important to them.
The date of the end of 6,000 years of human history keeps changing (as proved by the three quotations given - there are plenty others) and hence their expectation of when Armageddon will occur also keeps changing.
The many predictions given by JW's proves they are false prophets.
Trying to predict dates about when human history will end is in conflict with God's word because, as has alredy been quoted, "No-one knows the day or the hour..."
I am very glad my parents are no longer alive to read/hear this statement. When they became Witnesses in 1945 they were convinced that the end of 6,000 years of human history was a HUGELY SIGNIFICANT chronological milestone, based purely on what the Society published in their books and magazines.
They were told that the generation which saw 1914 would be the generation to see God's earthly kingdom established. They were told that 6,000 years of human history was due to end in 1972 and their chronology proved Armageddon was imminent. Such was their conviction that Armageddon was going to happen in their life time they and millions of other faithful, believing Wtnesses, altered their life styles. They stopped life insurance policies, they told their children they need not go to University or develop a career, and signed away property and money in their wills to the organisation because they would have no need of such things. Millions of JW's were holding their breath in eager anticipation that "this wicked system of things" was about to end in 1914. That generation died disappointed.
Millions of JW's were holding their breath again in eager anticipation that "this wicked system of things" was about to end in 1975. They still are, 30 years later. Please do not think I am making this up. I was a JW from the 1950's up until the mid 1970's. I read and believed all this stuff.
According to the Governing Body, they are blameless in all this. They claim they never said Armageddon was going to happen in 1975 (or on any other date, for that matter), and that a few over-zealous individuals got the wrong end of the stick. "Oh, no!" they cry, holding their hands up, "We never led anyone to believe that Armageddon was just about to happen." Hypocrites - EVERY JW knows that the end of 6,000 years of human history is supposed to precede Armageddon.
Is that why the Governing Body has switched emphasis away from predicting the end of 6,000 years of human history, now claiming it is merely an interesting chronological milestone, but with no real theological importance? Could it be that they are trying to distance themselves from their numerous false predictions? Could it be they are trying to stop the haemorrhage of disillusioned, disappointed Witnesses from leaving? Check out their membership figures before and after 1975. They took a nose dive.
And before we get the usual tirade of abuse from JW's, no, I am not telling lies. It's all in your society's literature. Do the homework. Check it out. If you were not a JW between 1950 and 1975 then you are in no position to claim this is made up. I was there. Any intelligent, thinking person would laugh at the idea that "the light is getting ever brighter" the closer you get to Armageddon. Wake up! You've been duped.

i think of you better examine those articles back. maximum historians will agree that Adam grew to become into created interior the 365 days 4027. in accordance to Jewish history. upload the present 365 days to which you have doubts and you get 5999 for 1972 and that's with out including a million 365 days via fact there is not any 0 365 days. 1973 could be including the 0 365 days in. by no potential did they say that 1975 grew to become into the top of human beings history. And the place to you get the be conscious history? in case you attempt to declare that we pronounced that Armageddon grew to become into coming at that element, you're incorrect back. you could not even comprehend the Bible no longer to show any of our classes. Christ's presence and Armageddon are 2 distinctive matters. we are able to no longer say while Armgeddon will come via fact no one knows of while. What they're attempting to declare is that it somewhat is relatively close. we haven't any concept how long Adam grew to become into interior the backyard while he sinned. He grew to become into created in 4027 yet how long earlier he sinned? i grew to become into interior the organization in the time of the cases which you communicate approximately and not something grew to become into pronounced approximately those dates different than some pronounced 1975 a in all possibility date for Armageddon via fact the calculations extra healthful. yet, it grew to become into by no potential introduced as a marvelous date and it grew to become into the folk who misunderstood. all and sundry is in contact for this methodology to end. all of us be stricken by many trials. Does this make the reality incorrect? Even the Apostles have been waiting for the top of the equipment. it somewhat is the reason they puzzled Jesus at Matthew 24:a million-7. It does no longer rely if it comes the following day or a one hundred years from now, are you waiting? you would be better off examining your person ideals and bypass away others to theirs.

It will be one of these dates or one that we have yet to see published. I would bet that there will be a JW come in here and say that the date is not important now!

No one knows but the father, Hence no Trinity or Duality.
Mar 13:32 But of that day and [that] hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
