Who knows, who cares.
The only thing I know is that, considering how wonderful life is, we should take more care of what we've got on this planet.
I favour ideas that are focused upon maximising quality of life for humans and, to a lesser extent, other animals. Also, part of maximising quality of life is the idea that we should try to enable life to continue in the future.
This means that our prime concern should be improving countries where life spans are needlessly short and poor quality, and upon ensuring we look after the environment for the sake of all life on this planet.
At this stage it is impossible to determine for sure what the origin of life on this planet is. There is the possibility that it was both creation AND evolution.
There is also the slight possibility that life was brought here from another planet. We have no way of knowing for sure, or even of assigning probabilities to these things, so the whole debate is a needless distraction.

Creation, You know it always amazes me these evolutionists tries to say evolution, I have had some evolutionists say that we evolved from Apes or Chimps, & when I ask the question how come we still have chimps, One told me that some evolved into something else besides human, more like another animal form, So again my answer is creation, & if any evolutionists people think we was not created, Why once again don't we see Chimps changing over to humans or as some has said over into another type of animal, if evolution was correct, where did it stop. Evolution means to continue on into something different, & not stop a few thousand years ago, We still have chimps, Apes, Monkies. & I have not seen one in my lifetime & neither has science in my life time has proved any evolution going on, & I am 57 yrs. old. BTW, Creation is still going on, That is why a woman has a conception from a man. That little seed out of millions was chosen by God to become a baby.

The truth is that no-one can say that they have the answer to this. It simply isn't known and what ideas we have all seem extremely far fetch and unprovable.
The ideas are very interesting and very wide ranging. I personally don't like the idea of creations, but i really don't have anything that would sound more sensible. Evolution does not state how life got here but how it change to meet the needs of its environment, this seems very sensible and has been proved hundreds of times.
Weirdest I believe I've heard is that life comes from clay. Clay naturally forms structures of pillars and tubes, these then developed into proteins which combined into cells.

If creation, then there must be a creator to creat a creator and the question will be everlasting. If evolution, then why the old stuffs still existing, will not be a evolution and evolution cannot tell the beginning. I would rather prefer to acept the Budha said by willing, our willing to do and our Karma to hit the chances to be a level of living style. Our soul is a sutborn creation product to go into anybody for a creation.

There is Islamic concept of evolution, that can be understood, if you get clear idea about the difference in "creation and production".
Creation is a timeless space less abrupt act like an initial idea or concept, direct and medium less.
So the creation of each and every identity supposed to come/be part of this universe, was done in first six days at the start of this universe. All of us are of same age as created same time.
Production is a time, space and process based element that is dependent on different mediums and frames of reference. It gets started after the creation is already done.
So our birth is actually the process of production that is the result of an evolution and growth process along with the entire environment of this universe. As the environment is a huge living body continuously in evolution and growth.
Source(s):
Islam has summerised the concept of evolution when it is said in Holy qura'n, Allah almighty has made the man from dust/clay.
So the process of evolution from dust/clay to being a human is not described in detail in Islam

I believe in evolution. There is tons of evidence supporting this and you can't deny the millions of fossils recovered. But a part of me wants to believe in creation. Because if we were created then we were meant to be here. We have a purpose instead of being a collection of cells that just happen to flourish under the right conditions. I'm torn between the two.

Evolution begins with life. Evolution is the basis for diversity of life, not life itself.
There are various hypotheses to explain the origin of life. Abiogenesis is the strongest. Creation (not literal Biblical) cannot be discounted. Even panspermia has some redeeming features.

I see a few answers already suggesting creation and evolution do not have to be exclusive of each other. Could it not be possible that God created perfect conditions, and therefore evolution "evolved"?
