If you are self employed then you work as a sub-contractor to the companies you work for. They do not pay your wages as you work for a fixed fee for a given delivery. They have no need to know about your driving record. However your car insurance will be effected by it and using your car in this way will mean that you must have the additional cover. With your points then, the premium will be high.

I use to work for a parcel courier company. Their policy was not to use any self employed driver with more than 6 points on their licence.
If their driving is that bad, why would an employer trust them with their freight?
With 12 points, you are really going to struggle to find work...

I think you mean you lost points. The company will want to know about your driving history. If you have lost points they may see you as a liability and choose others before you. Perhaps it would be wise to wait until you have been given your points back. Enquire with the RTA.

If you are self-employed, which companies are going to want to see your points?
Any companies you are delivering for will only be interested in your prices!

The company will probably want to see your drivers' abstract, available from Ministry of Transportation
