When you break up with someone and they say 'Oh well your loss' does that make you laugh inside, an does it make them look even more of a loser.
This happened to me with this guy I was dating and he goes 'its your loss, you will realise that you missed a good guy oneday and regret it', I couldnt believe a 30 year old could say that. Why would I want to be with someone I dont feel 100% with, it wouldnt be fair on either of us. Thing is he really likes me too, said he loved me but he has really annoying habbits. Is it a losers way of saying I lost really.
Girl's guy's what would you think if someone you just finished with said that to you?

everyone uses this phrase everyone thinks their a good thing and if someones not with me then they've lost out on the world. apparently he wasn't that good of a thing you let him go. yes it's his way of saying i lost i too. if not he'd let go and not comment

I would say that he was hurt and wanting too somehow hurt you back. Its worked because your questioning this. You are right, if someone doesnt feel right or your not happy with them its better to let them go and let another fishing rod catch them. You did the right thing, but i think you know that, dont you?
Look on the positive side, he did give you some fond memories, otherwise you wouldnt have dated him! look back at everything good and forget the thing he said, your the brighter soul out of the two off you, you was able to let him go rather than have the relationship turn sour, this would have been far more hurt full to him xxxx good luck with your next catch, ya never no it might be the one!!!!

Probably has just had a major blow to the old ego and it's the easiest thing to say that springs to mind at the time. It's a way of acting as though they don't care when maybe they are actually gutted, and don't want you to know they're hurt!

I would take it in my stride. I would consider him 2 be the worst thing that ever happened 2 me because I never regret my decisions & him saying that would mean that he wasn't the right guy 4 me in the 1st place otherwise he wouldn't hurt me by saying that. I'll be really happy 2 get rid of him and gain instead of "losing".

I think he's being very immature for his age. When someone tells you it is your loss, it is just another way of saying: "You hurt me." He probably just feels let down. Don't let it get to you. You obviously didn't care about him very much, or you would have been able to see past his annoying habits. Saying it's your loss is just another way of coping. Ask him to be friends and try to make a truce, if he doesn't listen, it's his loss. =)

it happened to me !!! i stopped seeing a bloke and now 4 yrs later i still get the odd mail saying it was my loss and if we started talking again then we would both benifit and he loves me so much etc etc etc ....god why dont he take the hint !!!
i havent spoken to him in 3 yrs after he walked into my house and refused to leave scaring the hell out of my kids they had to call police !!!
how can i forgive someone like that and be friends with him
im just ignoring him !!!! hopefully he will get the hint lol
men are just pathetic sometimes ....they stamp their feet and hope they get their own way

Hmmm.... I once said that to someone but I bet the person laughed and somehow I felt I looked a bit like a loser. I only said that because I felt under-appreciated. I suppose it varies but personally I think it's crap. If a guy/girl really wanted to be with you, he/she would be working hard to get you back and being all cocky with him/herself.

That is what people say to not let the blow of being broken up with affect their self esteem. I would think, if it was "my loss", than being single must be a HUGE runner up prize, ditching a loser like them!!!! LOL
