Sister, this is beautiful but it is one of those things organized Islam in many countries is prone to ignore. Not all nations handle the problem of rape in the same fashion, of course, but in some, there are still honour killings and horrible revenge going on.
One need only go to the RAWA site to see the plight of women in Afghanistan for instance.

Interesting, I just found that the two films I have of modest burqa clad women being terrorized by males in KSA have been removed. Always I question who is behind these sudden disappearances of such material! I imagine some soul protested at the foul words in Arabic being used towards these girls.
Anyhow, to sum it up, Sister is that this quote regarding rape in Islam is unfortunately it is only as effective as those who actually pay attention to it. The onus is placed on the woman alone and men are considered helpless hapless children lured by their siren glance.
As with all people, in all religions and cultures, some things are "let slide" for one reason or another.
I am not trying to be any more than the devil's advocate, Sister. Honestly I am not trying to bring a slur upon Islam or the Prophet, pbuh, just be a realist. I wish what I say was not the case, but alas it is.

Rape is having sexual intercourse against the consent and well of a woman.Although there is no penetration to the woman's private parts if the man's private parts have entered into the lavia, it is considered rape already as long as the woman was force and not voluntarily given. There is force when there is any sign of struggle from the woman, and others. However the punishment of rape depends of the law of any country which was enacted by the governbment. Rape as define on the society and culture of any country is considered a civil law enacted by the government which is also rape punishment of the Islam countries. You should study the laws of Islam countries in order to know and be enlightened of the laws of Islam countries so you may not feel ignorant about it. No matter how you question their law, you can do nothing about it except when that law be amended by thier government. To be certain of things about rape do not just based your belief on News you have read. Read the law itself for you to understand and if there is something wrong about the law enacted by the government, make representation that the same be amended and revise the wrong part of the law. jtm

Under the Islamic Law, a rapist's punishment is death by
suffering and pain. As of why there are still rapists ALIVE
in the so-called Islamic countries? The answer is simple:
those nations are using laws of men made by the so-called
humanitarian societies whilst not following the Islamic Laws.
Truth be told, those nations cannot be classified as Islamic
countries due to the fact of not using Islamic Laws.

In Islamic law, For an act of Rape to be considered "rape", I believe the victim needs supporting statements from 3 or 4 ( cant remember the number exactly ) MALE witnesses.... now.... How often would 3 men stand there and watch a helpless woman raped and not do a thing to stop it unless they are bound and under duress?
Add: Naserq2, you're right... my bad. It is considered a sub-section of Adultery Laws or Zinah. Several countries have since revoked the 4 witnesses ruling, but MANY countries still adhere to that law. I did a little research and below is taken from Syariah Law:
".......In cases of adultery, shari'ah resorts to particularly drastic measures. Rape creates an especially difficult burden of proof for the victim. Shari'ah law only provides for punishment in cases of adultery, if both parties admit to have committed the "crime". If this is not the case, four independent witnesses have to be found; however, the witnesses must be male. In cases of rape, shari'ah rules that a rapist is to be punished with 100 lashes, if unmarried, or with death by stoning, if married, since this would then constitute adultery."
Now... if ANYONE was a victim of rape... how many victims do you know will admit that their being brutalised is their fault and that they are part of the crime?

Then tell us why is it when any female who is raped in a Muslim dominated religious world, is usually not believed and put too death, by the religious and family members, who say the women has brought shame on her family.
In Iran sometime ago, a young wayward girl of under sixteen years of age, was rapped by a taxi driver.
They believed the taxi driver evidence of events, eventhough the medical evidence contradicted the driver's evidence.
Now you will say, some women like it rough a but. However, you must think to say, would you like to be raped mate.
Anyway, the young girl was hung from a mobile crane. She was even mislead of what was going to happen to her.
She was told that she would only go through the motions of being hung, but released before it was done.
So you can't trust the word of a mufti a but mate.
They can tell lies like the rest of society when it suits them.
It is about time the United Nations outlawed those counties that don't enforce Human Rights law, by bringing the heaviest sanctions against them. No export of raw martial and no imports either.
To be cut off from the rest of the world, is the only way to bring those who wish to live in the Dark Ages stay in the Dark Ages and leave the rest of us alone.

I believe many muslim scholars have studied and deliberated upon the Zina sub-ruling and stated it as a MIS-application of islamic laws. They say that it should be trialled under the Hiraba Haad Crime instead... which is the crime of "Forceful Taking". I think this sounds a lot more logical than accusing the victim of Adultery if she is unable to produce 4 witnesses to the crime... talk about exhibitionism!

Muslims stone the rapist and forgive the victim according to their belief.
Here in the uk we have clergy abusing children over years and years yet if they are ever brought to justice if thats what you call it ,they are sent to holliday camps to enjoy a few months off.
Nowerdays there is little difference between men and women in our society. We are all capable of lying and and most of the time do.
None, will not be judged for his deeds.

So Islam is in regression, as many people suspect, because today, when a Muslim woman is raped, she is more likely to be punished and not the rapist, she needs 2 eyewitnesses to the rape, or she will be stoned for consenting.

Yes, you're right. Great.
Problem is, nearly all of those in charge in Muslim countries would disagree with you - and wrong as they may be, it doesn't really matter when they're the ones making the laws!
In Iran, women who are raped are often hanged! In Morocco, they're not killed, but they're rarely believed and often blamed. In Saudi Arabia, the men rape their domestic workers!
So please, if you feel so strongly about this, then do something instead of posting here. Lobby Amnesty International, write letters to the U.N. or the leaders of those countries - please!

I suppose it was considered to be like adultery. The women really has nothing to be ashamed of, so why else would she have to be forgiven? they would feel guilty I guess, sometimes people blame themselves out of fear etc. I think the quote is very just, and compatible with today's society. My only quesiton is who gets to stone the guy: the victim, or somebody else?
