hi, does any one have the two henry miller books, (tropic of cancer) and (tropic of capricorn) either as a pdf file or know a web adress from where i can dL them safely "for free". my reasons for this request other than to read the worldly famous books of course are: i live some where where i can't find these books easily, second reason, i never use my credit card on line, so if u know any info, it would be nice. if any one would be so helpful as to send me pdf files kindly check them for viruses.

I thank those who brought my attention to the fact that it is still copy writed, as for the author calling women *****, I'm sure that the gentleman who wrote that answer doesn't refrain from seeing the movies who call men bustards and fags and A . . holes. And I'm sure there is some where in the "Tropics" where some men were sworn at, all books have some of this stuff. It's educational cause I like to write my self, it's getting new material and learning new writing styles. Any way I have no need for further answers to this question.

I think you're out of luck. This is from the Project Gutenberg volunteer page:

"I found a copy of Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller. Is this an acceptable choice or is it still too recent? (pub 1934, miller died 1980)

Sorry. We need pre-1923 publication for public domain status. And from http://lcweb.loc.gov, 1934 was the first printing, so there's no earlier version to get. Unless your edition waives copyright, which it probably doesn't, we can't use it."

So, as you can see, it's still protected by copyright law.
Your best bet (for a free copy) would be the library, I believe.

Why don't you play it safe and go to your local library. I'm sure they have it, even though it's probably under lock and key.
