yes you can use a rice cooker as a fryer

i travel a lot and drags around a small rice cooker in my bag.you can use it to cook rice and even pasta.i have fried vegetables tempura and fried chicken in it.if the switch turns off ,wait a minute or two before turning it on again.no problem.and if you have finished cooking or frying but the switch is still on ,just turn off the main switch off.it will be ok

good luck = )

it wont work. the temperature isnt nearly hot enough and you will end up with greasy disgusting food that is inedible. best to just use a pan on the stove with oil if you dont have a deep fryer.

not if you want to fry anything. The temp. will be to low to fry. It may work for low heat oil immersion cooking.
