I remember a group of Masons all with Rangers shirts on and I have heard Celtic is catholic. I Always Knew Ireland was heavey into the Religious divide but not so much Scotland. And If Celtic is catholic do they have A lot of Protestant Supporters? What is the approx religious mix in Scotland?

Yes, in the cities that have more than one team the teams are usually tied to a religious fan base. Celtic is the Catholic team for Glasgow, Rangers is the Protestant team.

Even though I am not Catholic I am a Celtic fan instead of Rangers, but since I live in the States, I think I don't count.

The whole Rangers and Celtic, Protestant v Catholic thing is an excuse for them to hate each other. About 1% of the 60,000 that pack out Celtic Park on a Saturday will be in church the next day, if that.

I would say all Celtics supporters are catholics. All the protestants in Glasgow support Rangers. In Edinburgh,Hearts are the proddies and Hibernian are the catholics. As a whole about 90 percent of Scotland would be protestant,it also applies in English football , although to a lesser extent.Man u Arsenal and Liverpool generally have more catholic...or irish.... fans than say Spurs, Everton or Manchester City.Generally the teams that wear green and red are the catholics and blue is usually more protestant.

Celtic have always had a strong link to the Republic of Ireland because one of their founders was Irish or somethin. And Scotland is a Protestant country so basically Rangers don't resent the fact that Celtic have such strong links with Ireland and Catholocism.

i moved around a lot when I was too young to remember so there are a lot of teams I liked growing up. My family is from San Diego but we lived in Chicago as well so I grew up liking the Bears but not old enough to remember the Chargers. I'd always root for any California team regardless so I was happy seeing the 49er dynasty of the 80s and 90s. But as I moved to our final destination growing up, i distinctly remember my aunt giving me a Yankees jacket as a going away present to Connecticut. The Yankees were destined to be my favorite baseball team as i grew up from a boy to a man. I saw everything was right with New York and everything was wrong with Boston so I hate the Sox. I find I'm more passionate about the Yankees than I am about my favorite football team the Chargers and a close second the Titans.
