Highly unlikely. The hire company would have to ship it back to England before they could hire it out again. Why not cross the channel as a foot passenger or by train and hire a left hand drive car when you get over there. You won't have the hassle of sitting on the wrong side then.

yes you can! if you rent with a reputable company eg. avis, hertz, thrifty, budget, europcar etc. you can drop off the car pretty much anywhere on the planet for the same price.

Yes you can.

But ...................................... there are drop off fees.

Even within one country they can be expensive.
If it is cross border it is more expensive.
And if the car is from a little island (with the steering wheel on the wrong side) it is very expensive.
