Why didn't you stop at "Please define faith"? Your additional details prove that you really don't need that definition. Never-the-less, I will give you one.
Faith is the extrapolation of a graph based on proven facts.
For example, let's assume that I have been married for the last 8 years. During that time, I know that my wife never cheated on me. Based on this, I can extrapolate that she will not cheat on me in the near future. The extrapolation is faith. I have grounds to believe so but I am not certain.
This is the exact principle used in the scientific method that is employed in science and business. It's called projections. This is reasonable but one needs to understand that it's an EXTRAPOLATION.
What is NOT reasonable is what many 'scientists' do to support a 'theroy' that science does not support. The trend, based on the available scientific facts, show that one species does NOT change into another but rather levels out (the gradient becoming progressively less) within the gene pool. Yet so-called scientists still use only the very first part of the graph, and extrapolate THAT to 'prove' macro-evolution. This is not faith but false hope.

Faith is the belief in what you cannot observe. I can't see, smell, hear, touch or taste God, but I can feel his presence around me.
You say that Christians and Muslims are dumb because we base our beliefs on faith. Since you don't agree with our beliefs, then what do you think we should base our beliefs on? Science? Math? Our five senses? Logic? Emotion? Reason? Intuition? Well we all know that fields of study such as science and the arts have their limits. Just look at the scientific method, and you'll know what I mean. Our five senses? Well we all know that our senses have limits; we can't see light rays that fall outside the visible light range, and we can't hear sounds out of our range as well. Since we can't even observe such things, how can we expect to be able to observe God? The last few, logic, emotion, reason, and intuition also do not work simply because we as finite beings are unable to perceive God, who is infinite. God created us, and if we were able to understand His ways, then it would truly be an insult to Him, that we finite beings can even expect to fully understand such an awesome infinite being.
You probably noticed that I haven't provided evidence that God exists, and you are right if you did. How do I know that God exists? I don't. Yet, I still believe in Him, all because of a simple thing called faith =)

Christians & Muslims don't base their faith simply on a book (Bible or Quran). To do so would be wrong. To define "faith" would be to "Believe in something whole heart". I think most Christians & Muslims do have questions about their own religion, but they believe in what they do or say or follow. To do so whole heartly is something that a person can be proud of no matter if one is right & others are wrong.

there are time in my life i have questions too, sometimes too many (lol) but at least i can put my mind at rest with the the faith i have in God there maybe questions i may never get answered wen i am here on earth but i keep a note of them wen i finally meet Him (lol)
well... faith for me is this. i do not ignore the facts that are surrounding me i.e no job, no man, no house, no car.... but i believe that God's power can change that situation and i use the bible as my promise to my life and what he will do for me and let my life affect others and then i can be a witness.
everybody knows wen ppl are broke busted and disgusted but wen all of sudden God turns something around then ppl will ask "man how you do that.. you were broke" then i can tell them of how He's been good to me... that works for me but the others i cant ans for

To my limited understanding I believe Faith is Having trust in a person/being to act according to that being's/person's benevolent virtues based on one's understanding/knowledge of the person/being's qualities and virtues.
the twist here is, our knowledge or understanding of a person's quatlities may be misleading or downright wrong... thats when faith becomes misguided.

Faith is already well defined in Scripture. It says, 'Faith is the substance of things not seen, the evidence of things not heard!"

Couple of hundred of years...if all goes well.
They have these beautiful metaphors by Jesus, yet they do not know the true meaning, AND they don't even search for it! No thinking, no meditating.....basically : we'll remain dumb, give everyone else the sh*ts as much as physically possible, and beleive we'll spend an eternity of an afterlife in paradise.
Oh, and we won't have to pay taxes......
Sound good???......
