My three cats have suddenly been invaded by fleas. They were treated with Frontline plus 2 weeks ago, when the fleas came back a few days ago we treated them again. The fleas dont appear to be even slowing down/dying once they are on the cats. If I buy advantage or revolution will it hurt the cats to put it on again so soon? I am going to flea bomb the house but want to help my babies in the meantime

frontline is pretty safe, but the frontline isn't the problem...you need to treat your yard and carpet!!fleas can lay 100 eggs at a time and they can stay eggs for up to a year!!so,if they laid eggs under your couch and you moved it to clean, the fleas saw your shadow and came out of their eggs...Viola!!instant flea infeststation....you shouldn't use frontline more than every 3 weeks, but switching to advantage might be better for your situation b/c it kills on contact.frontline kills after they bite!!Good luck!!

I do not believe that you should mix any drugs on a cat. I would not put advantage on for 30 days. Talk to your vet. It may not overdose them, but it may cause an allergic reaction on the skin and then you will not be able to treat them with any of them. Also, every flea in your house and yard will go to the cats. That is probably what is happening. It takes a little while for the Frontline to work and you will still see fleas from house and yard get on cat until they are all gone. Let them get on her. The Frontline breaks the flea cycle, by making it where fleas cannot have baby fleas. It may take a little while, but it is working and within 30 days you will see then numbers drop. I would wash all of her bedding and vacuum the floors every day to pick up loose ones. Also, maybe take you and your pets to a friends or family members and bomb the house, but the Frontline will catch up to the infestation eventually.

It's difficult to overdose with Frontline and Revolution (unlike with stuff like Zodiac or Bob Martin from petshops where one treatment alone can be an overdose!).Treatments two weeks apart is absolutely fine.

If your cats have a lot of fleas, you will need to spray the house (use something from the vets).

Once the fleas have been eradicated from the environment, use of Frontline Plus will treat both the cats and the environment. If you haven't controlled the problem yet with a spot-on there isn't much point switching to another spot-on - Revolution is good, but it's pretty clear you need to do some serious house-treatment first.

Please be sure you are getting all of that spot-on treatment on the cat's SKIN - none on the fur! You may need to put the liquid in several places on the back of the neck to prevent it forming a puddle and flooding on to the fur. Do part the fur to expose the skin so you can get the stuff right on the skin.

Use Frontline every 4 weeks - the live fleas you see on your cats are fleas that hatch in the carpet and jump onto them. Your cats will appear to have fleas until every flea in your home is dead from the Frontline. It is working, don't switch brands, don't change the dosage.

If you have a safe place to put your cats for 24 hours, bombing your house is a good idea as well. Make sure to turn mattresses and couch cushions on end so the smoke can reach all sides and underneath. Hang any rugs over a chair back as well.
