How to control /conquer lust?

Lust is the physical attraction which one has towards the opposite sex. Generally speaking it happens on account of the harmones in each person, at certain age. In reality where lust occurs there is no real love. In times of lustful feelings one forgets many of the finer qualities which one had till then. Personal satisfaction is the sole aim of lust. Therefore it misleads an otherwise normal good person to unpardonable crimes many times. The best way to conquer lust would be to chanalise the mind in other constructive modes, as it is the mind which is the prime cause of encouraging one to do a good or a bad action. Try to think of women as souls created by God just like us. They are created for better purposes in the world, such as being a mother, a sister or a daughter. If every man really understands the burden a woman undergoes while carrying a child in her womb and the agony and anxiety at the time of delivering the same, he would never never see a woman in lustful eyes again. There are several ways by which one can take his mind to better and constructive avenues, such as Yoga, sports, music etc. A man with full of love in him is capable of achieving a lot in this world whereas a lustful person will only march to his doom.

But there is a right way and a wrong way.

The right way is identify lust, What is lust?
Lust is to just enjoy sex with no attachment.
What does this lead to and why is it wrong?
Lust makes objects out of people rather
than what that person really is, and respecting that person for what that person
is all about,outside the bedroom.
Lust creates resentment between 2 people
and leaves a stigma in a real relationship
down the road, which causes
distrust.
Lust leads to unwanted pregnancys and stds.
Lust leads to jealous rages which may cause death.
Lust can lead to intellectual distruction.
another words thats all one thinks about,
and his actions are governed by his desires.
and who knows where that might take that person.
Basically lust perverts the mind.
Theres is nothing wrong with sex, it is meant to be.
But with one person, not 600
To control lust is to understand the perversness of its source.
Gratification is what we all crave and in life
nothings for free, so we pay for it in a sense.
The world is a big contributor in promoting lust, why because its a big money
maker, everyone that promotes sex uses
our eyes or ears to distribute whats totally bad for us, gratification of our human desires, which usually leads to punishment in the end.
Not filling your mind with pictures is the first
step, dont pay for sex just say no, find a
good wife that will make you complete if you cant control it, youll live a whole lot longer.
The world is why most marriges are broken,
because of what we see is temptation everywhere, we must be strong to be happy.

That's a really nice question asked. Sex is not always lust. But sex without commitments, without attachments, wtihout any moral codes, is lust.

Whenever you are physically attracted to a person, just think about how the person would look when it grows old. Just try to imagine what would be the sate of that persons body, if it were mre than 60 years old. I bet, once you visualize somthing that would distract you from the person, there would be no place for lust. Hope that would help.

In line with islamic teaching lust can be controlled or conquered by :
1)fasting during the day from dawn until the beginning of a night for about 14 hours without drink and food
2)praying to Allah the only one God and zikir or reminding Allah
3)physical exercises everyday until get tired
4)making a busy activities of your hobby such as planting,reading etc

Friend!lust is indeed a negative feeling when directed towards the worldly things.It can be conquered with GOD's grace.Direct your lust towards GOD.Then it will turn into a positive feeling.Develop more and more passion for GOD.When you direct lust this way towards GOD,then He will remove your lust from the transient material things.You will benefit more in your life by having intense lust for GOD.

If you really wants to live a godly life then when you come of age , get marry with the man who love GOD then you would be able to use your lust according to the approval of GOD.
