Some don't do it our of malice they simply hear it some where else.
Often I think/hope it is simply a matter of feeling that their friend or relative knows the answer, so they simply believe it. I admit at times I have been guilty of this.
I also know that some believe what they read or are told, even without validity, simply because it is said or read. My grandmother was like that.
I do think some are afraid to go to the horses mouth, that's part of the reasons why some of the bigoted websites people list on here go over so well, people assume since it isn't by the specific religion it will probably be more fair. While some people seem to try to be fair with what they say, many seem to think that they are free to bad mouth what they don't understand.
I am often amazed by the things people say on here about what I believe, I am a Witness. What is shocking isn't that they say odd, sometimes rude, things it's that people seem to believe the stuff. I have seen some on here ask questions about my beliefs, get several ACURATE answers, then pick the one that says something out there like, "They eat babies".
Those who make up various lies do it for a variety of reasons.
I think some do it simply for the lie. Others don't like the thing they are lying about, like Erica B's current ID 2 or 3 places above me, so they make up things in the hopes that it will turn others away.
I see it as a good sign. They make things up because they know in their hearts they don't stand a chance of convincing others to feel a certain way based on the facts. It is kindof like calling someone a poopoo head on the playground, because you have nothing else to say.

Hi LP, Bambi here...
U are well educated and well versed.
YOU have the knowledge, U KNOW--
Why J's W's are attacked, lied upon, hated on
w/ major aggression (as u put it).
You posted an answer to 1 of my Q's once,
I don't have it in front of me now, so it's not verbatim...
but, in essence u said; I find that w/ all the hating ppl do
towards the JW's it makes me think that they are the 1
true religion.
U know the Scripture.
U know what Jesus said, about his followers, in the world.
In fact today, I recommended ur truth telling,
knowledgeable self to a young lady who had a
reasonable Q, and u r knowledeable and u did
answer her Q, with truth and facts.
All that I have seen from u, is truthful and informative.
And ur not biased either.
My answer to ur Q:
Because they are from their Father; the Father of the lie.
I had a good chuckle @ what tony (underneath) said, cuz my husband isn't a JW, I am, I changed...and boy! oh! boy! does he Like it...
Shalei: that's not my hsbnd below my ansr.
The hsbnd is to love the wife as (he loves) his own body. A hsbnd really ansr's to Christ regarding his wife.
And on a more personal note; I myself find it difficult to b so submissive @ times. It's a new personality I've put on.So, its a work in progress, all the time. He's not working @ being a Christian. But, my new attitude/ personality rubs off on him; so to speak. He loves me to NO end. I am a compliment to him. He's always doing 'those 'lil things' for me that ppl (in general) forget. He cooks, cleans and brings home the bacon. I'm sick often, he always takes real good care of me. As a hsbnd should. Brings me gifts, constantly. On n on.
Terisina; thx. Basically, that's what I told my mom, when we spoke about this very issue. A loving hsbnd wouldn't ask his wife to do/ go in a way that's bad/ rude/ disrespectful.
Besides, I make my God happy when I do what is right, in his eyes. Even if my hsbnd isn't.

I know Jehovahs Witnesses believe that Jesus is Gods son and Ive found that there are a lot of hateful people in this section of YA too. Many here say that they believe in God and are so tolerant etc etc but by their answers I doubt if they really do. I've seen hate directed toward JWs & mormons and muslims too and the ones doing it cant be God fearing people if they harbour this hatred. Sad to say that many say they are christians.
Anyway I voted like you asked. I respect your views and the way you live your lives too. If anyone is interested in what you have to say then they're stupid if they believe lies that are told on a website instead of finding out from JWs themselves. If I have any questions I ask them when they come around, I don't ask someone who hates them.

Witnesses have forever been under major scrutiny and attack, as have Mormons and now Muslims. When people decide they are against a particular religion they will go to any length to try to destroy it. With the help of the internet, those against the religion can now access plenty of hate sites that spew hatred, lies, distortions and inaccuracies. It's sad that so many people cannot just live and let live... If they don't believe a particular set of beliefs, that is fine, but there is NO reason to attack, insult and degrade anyone or their beliefs.

Jehovah's Witnesses do seem to take a beating on this web site. Now for all the men out there. My wife started studying
with Jw's and she has really changed. They tell her to be in submission to her husband. So now she is nice, and says honey and what do you want? At first it scared me, that is so not like her. But the more she studies the better she is.
She doesn't flirt with other guys. She didn't before but was way to much smileing and laughing. Now she says I know that bothers you and so I am more careful and she goes to church and I get to have sunday morning to watch football games.
she brings me home a pizza saying, "I am sorry I had to leave all morning but I will make it up to you"
So act like you really care and get all this attention.
She even quit lying to me. She said it was bills when I noticed a bunch of new clothes. I said, "don't lie you bought clothes." She said, "yes I did, I am so sorry I will never lie to you again." I didn't know what to say. "Okay! good, honesty is good?" So you people don't have to like it but i do.
We don't have any children and I don't want any and she agrees this world is way to wicked to bring children into the world. So if that is what she wants to do who is she hurting?

Very weak point made: “If the Governing Body told us that it is okay to go to war like Christendom does.” In the example you just gave, why would they disobey their own man-made doctrine? Would they not be disassociating themselves? Surely they know not to disobey Watchtower doctrine otherwise there would be conflicting beliefs and many disagreements. How can the Jehovah’s Witnesses depend on a group of men if they were inconsistent? Perhaps you are making a reference to old light and new light policy? In this case you would have to OBEY. Have you not heard of the Elder’s Manual? The Watchtower says: "[A mature christian] does not advocate or insist on personal opinions or harbor private ideas when it comes to Bible understanding. Rather, he has complete confidence in the truth as it is revealed by Jehovah God through his Son, Jesus Christ, and "the faithful and discreet slave." Watchtower 2001 Aug 1 p.14 "Since Jehovah God and Jesus Christ completely trust the faithful and discreet slave, should we not do the same?" After all, the slave has shown itself to be faithful in doing its assigned work. Watchtower 2009 Feb 15 p.27 "To act consistently with our baptism for life and into the Greater Noah we must SUBMIT to and cooperate with that slave and its legal instrument, the Watch Tower Society." Watchtower 1959 Oct 1 p.583 (the caps are my emphasis) “By Following Theocratic Direction: “Theocracy” means “rule by God,” who is love. We benefit from his rule by accepting his authority and following his instructions in large and small decisions. “The faithful and discreet slave” represents theocratic rule on this earth. (Matt. 24:45-47) Cooperation with the organization that the “slave” uses is vital if we are to obtain Jehovah’s blessing. (Compare Hebrews 13:17.) Jehovah will reward our loyalty to him and our willingness to obey his laws by supplying the power we need at the appropriate time.—Heb. 4:16.” Watchtower 6/95 page 1 paragraph 4

Shalei? Who asked about what is in it for a wife if she obeys the rules found in the only book on earth claiming divine inspiration which plainly says that the head of the house if the man... that the wife should have deep respect for her husband... I will say that the day women begin to accept this holy concept as opposed to accepting the women's liberation movements which only added to their torments, they will feel such a relief and will finally know and understand what it is like to be truly loved by a man who loves them as he does his own body. The same way he wouldn't intentionally hurt his own body, he certainly wouldn't hurt his wife and will take his responsibilities as the head of the household allowing the wife to devote her time with the things women truly enjoy doing such as making the home clean, neat, cute and cozy, have more time to learn about the true God... help her neighbors, and a myriad of great things she would not be able to do unless she had such a loving and caring husband!
It is quite easy to be in subjection to a loving owner! whether God or man, we feel a sense of security with such love! It is not at all to be compared to the woman abused by a controlling worldly man! and much more a question of knowing one's role in the world we live in! This very concept is so foreign in these last days that we often see these roles reversed to the point where a mere toddler rules the household and dictates what goes on when... to the parents who should be the ones doing the disciplining in love and righteousness, stuck instead at the mercy of a tired, confused and whining child who can't be satisfied as it is given a control they have no idea what to do with! Nor should they be expected to but the parents just don't know better anymore. Could this be a direct result of the leaders of this world (school systems, etc.) who are put in place by the god of the system as seen in 2 Corinthians 4:4 and John 8:44? Get out of her my people!!! Revelation 18:4
People in general do fear the unknown but when we obey the admonishment to make sure of all things... we are no longer in the dark and see the real truths of God that set us free from the ways of Satan who remains just a short time yet before we rejoice in the real life at last! After listening to many scientists who don't think that this planet can go for even ten more years before self-destructing, we can almost smell the new system in which peace, love and harmony is to dwell!
A good example of the consequences of having every member of the family understanding their individual roles in the household could be compared to a captain on a ship. How do you think it would go if half of the ship's workers decided to do their own heads and refused to obey the captain, how far do you figure that ship would get and how would it ever get to its destination? It's quite a bit like that in the home! where the husband is the captain and lovingly brings his family to the new system, in God's loving Kingdom which will real soon be the one, the only one to rule the "new earth" from the heavens, with Jesus ruling as King! Wow!!! Can you just imagine how fun life will be without having to pay taxes to Ceasar anymore??? And that's just the beginning of the good news of God's Kingdom! Death itself, pain, sorrow, tears, will all be a thing of the past!

The attackers resort to lies because it is easier to lie then to say the truth. they hear tall tales stories told by someone that was told by someone. but in the long run all is not true. I just hope that whom ever is seeking the truth about JW's doesnt actually listen to people here and actually speak to someone regarding our belief and what we do and dont do.
i dont think he was saying that JW's are better then the rest. what i believe he was saying is that they get angry at us because we go "door to door" which we only do because we are suppose to. (following Jesus) I have never actually gone to a door where someone is really nasty to me. they say no thank you and i leave. they have to right to do so. Yes people are being biasd toward YW's on y! but they are also Biased at other groups as well. No one can actually say that their group is being attacked more because there is no real proof

Jesus words answer you question at John 15: 18 -21:
"If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you. Bear in mind the word I said to you, A slave is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will persecute you also; if they have observed my word, they will observe yours also. But they will do all these things against you on account of my name, because they do not know him that sent me".
The figurative eyes of many are blinded by ignorance. The Bible speaks of the nations as being “in darkness mentally, and alienated from the life that belongs to God, because of the ignorance that is in them.” (Ephesians 4:18)
For many, spiritual vision is obstructed because they are unteachable and rigid in their views. “They have a zeal for God; but not according to accurate knowledge.” (Romans 10:2) Others are blinded by wishful thinking. It was foretold that some would ridicule God’s people and the message they proclaim concerning Jesus’ presence. The apostle Peter wrote: “According to their wish, this fact escapes their notice,” namely that God brought a deluge upon the world of Noah’s time. (2 Peter 3:3 - 6) Similarly, many professed Christians readily acknowledge that God displays mercy, kindness, and forgiveness; yet they ignore or reject the fact that he does not give exemption from punishment. (Exodus 34:6 - 7) True Christians take care to understand what the Bible really teaches.
Although Jesus was doing Jehovah’s work, religious opposers refused to acknowledge that fact and did everything they could to stop him. Why? Because they were from their father, Satan the Devil, the one who has always opposed Jehovah’s work. (John 8:44) Since Satan can ‘transform himself into an angel of light,’ using “every unrighteous deception,” we need spiritual discernment and clear thinking to recognize his works for what they are. (2 Corinthians 11:14 and 2 Thessalonians 2:9 - 10).

I suspect it has to do with the coming showing of Knocking. It has been available since last September, yet they have not been able to find an independent film make to do a rebuttal.
Besides, lies are easy to tell and people believe them. If it were otherwise, you wouldn't see so many emails from Nigeria.
I could have made good money by letting one of them act as a ghost writer to create a sellable story about why I was disfellowshipped in 1982, rather than the real reason. I was fooling around with women I was not married to.
