I'm graduating from school soon but I'm failing all my classes because of laziness. I'm still graduating because I have enough credits, just failing as well. What do you think of me?

You sound like my daughter used to act when she was in the CA public school system. In her junior year, we took her out and placed her in a charter system. She has more than excelled there. I don't fault you or call you that word, because you are not, you are just not challenged enough to live on your own and have choices being your own choices yet.

My daughter will graduate this summer, with the summer school kids, since she was that far behind the cirriculum at school. She is not dumb, nor are you. You two are both very capable young women who need responsibilities for you to respond to people asking you for work completed.

Congratulations, but take it with some salt that you need to do more to step up to the challenges that lie ahead of you instead of asking dad and mom for money, or a car later on in your life.

You are not stupid, so take that statement back, you are very smart and know how to get what you want from daddy or mommy so that you dont have to work as hard for the things you get.

You and my daughter are very much alike, I wish you the best as you try to make your way in job life, I hope my daughter does well :-) She starts this week as a model for a high end surf shop. I hope she gets along with her bosses better than she gets along with me......

Dear One,
If you are not working at any of your classes and are really lacking motivation and expectation at a time when you should be EXCITED about your future--there is a lot more going on here besides the superficial label of being "stupid." Ask yourself WHY you are so demotivated? Why are you not excited about the next phase of your life? Are you somehow secretly wishing that you could stay in school a little longer because you are not quite ready for the rest of your life? That my very well be the case. Are you depressed? Is it difficult for you to get up in the morning or even do the simplest tasks for class or ever life?
If this is the case--make an appointment with a qualified counselor and get some things sorted out. Frankly what you learn in classes is usually just a fraction of what you need to survive in the world. And it's a natural reaction to slack off and drag your feet if the prospect of moving on seems a little intimidating.
Good luck!

I'm 26 now, and I graduated in '99 with honors. I didn't think I'd even pass, but on graduation day I got an extra yellow banded necklace for being at the top of my class. Who knew? I think if you're smart enough to succeed, then you're smarter than everyone else who stayed up 'til two in the morning studying.
Congratulations Grad!

Laziness is very different from stupidity.
My brother, for one, is quite smart, in his own teenage way. But then laziness kicks in and he ends up taking summer classes for the subjects he had failed to work on during the regular class days.

Ergo, you are not stupid. Just lazy. That's a different thing from the other.

Stupid is not a word that I EVER use! You answered your question yourself... No you are not stupid however, you are LAZY. I am assuming you are in Highschool?? If so I assume you do not want to continue to college. Your GPA will help you with so much. You should have worked as hard as possible and made the grades you know you could have.. not for anyone else.. but for the self gradification that comes out of it. You will live to regret goofing off. *sorry to be so harsh*

Just a little stupid yeah! I mean, I'm lazy, but managed honors in High School and College.

I still hold the record for most days missed and still getting a 4.0 in one semester. (34 days, thank you!)

Just get your butt in gear, cause the real world don't put up with the same crap you got away with in school.

Honest answer... yes you are !
You know your development need and you're not doing anything about it but asking people if you are stupid in doing so.... I`ll suggest ask people how can they share experiences that help you deal with your laziness so that in times to come you emerge successfully over this habit which may otherwise put you nowhere.
Wish you luck !!

At least you are graduating when you are. A degree is all that really matters. Pat yourself on the back.

if you are just cruising through life and just passing then if thats what you want then thats fine.

that is all you will ever get and be.

If you have a greater potential and know that you can achieve more and make more of the opportunities you have and dont...then that is really stupid.

the question should not be what do we think of you, it should be what you think of you!

I think that you should probably try harder. You seem smart enough, i mean you are able to log yourself online, and type this message. You should go to a junior or community college and major in something that amazes you, that way you will love what your doing and get paid for it!
