I had triggers in my right hand. Felt like rubber bands snapping in there. I went to orthopidec dr. He tried injections first, they didn't work. So I had surgery to relieve the pain. I've been pain free from triggers ever since.

I am in severe pain and I went to a pain specialist and this is what he did because it was in my back and upper chest one of the things that could go wrong if they got the wrong spot I could stop breathing until it wore off. (I had a great Dr and I never had a problem)

If you want this done go to a Dr that does it all of the time and check out if he has had problems.

Anther thing to consider. The body has a way of getting used to pain it becomes chronic and the body can tolerate it.

Once they do these injections and if they work for you the pain will only go away for a few weeks and then it will come back full force. For me I prefer to be in pain all of the time then to go through the cycle because when the pain came back it my body no longer responded as it were chronic. I could not tolerate it. After about one year sometimes less the body starts to cope.

I've had lots of trigger point injections throughout my body . They have been very helpful for me. I have a condition called Fibromyalgia and I get incredible pain in different points that have to be relieved. Another treatment you could try is deep tissue massage. That can relieve the pain as good as a trigger point injection. You just have to find a good massage therapist.

Trigger point injection are effective only if you can locate that point & feel it & should be almost superficial. But regularly it can't be used.
