Engineering Design encompasses a wide variety of original ( and sometimes modified designs) that are generally product oriented. Someone will be using the item when it has gone through the Engineering design process of concept, preliminary design, detailed design, prototype, test, initial production and then a production rate set by the consumer or end user( the markeet place so to speak).
On the other hand industrial design is more focused towards manufacturing proand assembly processes to build what results from the engineering design.

There are variations and much more to industrial design; from large factories to assemblylines/manufacturing cells even showrooms or some stores like maybe home improvement stores etc.
