Yes they can have a long lasting marriage as long as they always love each other and give respect to each other religion. But according to the marriage law in Indonesia now a muslim man/woman could not get married with a christian woman/man or other religion follower.Marriage in Indonesia should be between the same religion followers. This law is in line with the holy Qur'an that a muslim man is only for muslim woman or oppositely.

Of course they can, as long as they love each other and don't take religion too seriously. It would also be best if there were no religious fanatics in either family to interfere in the marriage. It's really no different to a black man marrying a white woman, if they love each other and their families and friends give them their blessings and support, there no reason that they shouldn't have a long and happy marriage.

Islam has made marriage to Jewish or Christian women lawful for Muslim men, for they are Ahl al-Kitab, that is, People of the Book, or people whose tradition is based upon a divinely revealed Scripture. Although they have distorted and altered it, they do possess a religion of divine origin, and hence Islam has made some exceptions in dealing with them.

it is very necessary for you to enter Islam. This will solve all the problems, from making the marriage valid, through giving a united direction to the future upbringing of the children, to attaining success and happiness in the Hereafter.

There will be no dispute as to which religion the children will be raised in, and they will not feel that there is any conflict in the family, so they will be able to grow up free of the psychological complexes that result from the parents' difference of religion.

I'm sure they could have a loving and long lasting marriage if that's what they choose. I do however think it would be best for a couple to have the same religious beliefs since they are planning to spend the rest of their lives together. If your faith is a huge part if not the whole basis of your life, how can you marry someone who is completely opposite from you and who's faith contradicts your own??

Yes they can EVEN IF religion is important to both. I recently saw something on CNN about this one couple and they both practice and get along great. It was too bad I only saw it like twice (on one day)...they repeat so many thing on headline news...they could have at least put it on for a few days. It was such a sweet story.

Just be sure to discuss things through first. And there will be problems but all marriages have them. Be patient and LOVE........

Absolutely. As long as they love, honer and respect each other and their different beliefs, any marriage can work. I know many Muslim men married to non-Muslim women and they are quite happy.

Personal opinion, yes.
Love is love. If they have everything that it takes to make a marriage strong, I don't think religion would hinder it. If they're both respectful of each other's beliefs, I don't see a problem.
