The med. excuse says I don't have to serve. The court papers say send it in with forms they sent me , but It does not say if I should show up at the courthouse. Do I have to show up? Thank you

If you have a valid reason such as medical problems, you can be excused from jury duty.

I had the same thing. If it is more than 10 days away, mail it. But be sure to call and confirm you have been given an extention. Make a copy of everything you send.
If less than 10 days I would go down there and give it to them (Get a Reciept as it is the Gov. ). They will most likely pick a new date while you are there, or in the mail.
Good luck.

Man, I would show up just to mess with them. I got called one time and it was a black guy on trial for robbery. I told them I was a memeber of the KKK and was excused. Then a few weeks later that sent me a check for like forty dollars. What blew me away is was called again in a matter of months. Same judge, different type of case. This one was some gay dude that was caught sucking his buddy off in the park. I told them I hated gays and wanted them all to die of AIDS and they excused me. I wonder if I will be called again?

Just call the clerk of that court and most likely they will instruct you on how to proceed. I don't see that you will have to serve either.

I would take it down before the date just to cover your butt. Couldn't hurt. Or just call the courthouse and ask them.

no, just mail your medical excuse to the court you were assigned to go for jury selection.

send the papers in like it tells you to. You don't have to show up but I would make a xerox copy of all your paperwork showing what you did.

Unless the court says otherwise, you have to show up.
