I'd like to purchase a RWD supercharged 3800 GM V6 as a replacement for the 3800 V6 ecotec that is in my 1996 Holden. I have a contact in the US that can organise the purchase and shipping. Is this feasible to do. What problems will there be. I know most US engines of this type are FWD but there are some RWD.

Ok thanks for the Pontiac suggestion. Is there much hassle involved as my existing 3800 is RWD and the Pontiac is FWD. I always thought(probably incorrectly) that it was difficult to replace a longitudinal RWD motor with a transverse FWD.

The FWD L-67 Pontiac GTP Grand Prix engine will do nicely. Same bolt pattern on the engine to transmission. Stock 240 hp. Pulley intercooler and camshafts valve springs and your over 300 hp. These engines are either generation 3 1997 to 2003 and gen 4 2004 and up. Eaton Supercharger modifications really help top end boost and engine electronics codes have beed cracked for revised fuel mapping. Buick Grand Nationals were turbo charged and now even in the USA that motor is hard to find.

A buddy of mine owns a 2003 Grand Am GT (3400), and a friend with a 2003 Grand Prix GTP (3800 supercharged) both of them have been though SEVERAL exhaust systems. Some like the flowmaster, have been better than the various fart can systems. But they always sound like a V6. Sorry, but thats kinda how it works.

the supercharged v6 r hard to find.ring around your wreckers.if you have no luck then maybe youd be better off converting your ecotec into a supercharged one as the old buicks arent as strong. The ecotecs run a 4bolt main as stock so there aint much that needs to be tickled up.
