The shoulder pain could be from the accident, or possibly arthritis. Your doctor is going to have the answers for you . Very difficult for me to tell you exactly what you have doing this on the internet.

The sound you hear is known as Articular release, which is a physiologic event that may or may not be audible. It is seen in patients with healthy joints as well as those with somatic dysfunction.

Articular release is a repeatable phenomenon that can occur with or without an accompanying noise. It causes a freeing of motion and a release of joint tension.

However, the physiologic and anatomic explanation for what happens during articular release is not fully understood. What is known is that articular release occurs when joint motion extends past the physiologic barrier. This extension may be accomplished by an outside force—as induced by a physician—or through muscle movement not directly emanating from joint release. The sound, or the noise, is what people notice in articular release; the subjective relief it provides is secondary.

In other words it is not a serious problem. I've enclosed a link to a website where you can find out more about this condition.

I hope this helps you.

you have a pinched muscle in your back causing the pain. It not only gives you pain but, as it's caused one muscle in a group to be shorter than the rest, you have one muscle trying to do what they all did as it's the short one and being pulled into work first. That is creating the pains when you lift your arm and all. The popping is from the tight muscles causing the area of your shoulder to bind up in the socket so nothing rotates, it rolls and pops back for a movement. Tight back muscles will also pull your spine out of it's normal alignment. There is nothing else there that could do it. To get rid of your pain you have to free up your back muscles to release the tight ones causing the pains and here's how to free them up: Back: (do while sitting on a chair) Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front, and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm as straight as possible. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, then release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side. For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
