Actually, it's possible when you're overweight to get sleep apnea. That's where soft tissue in the back of the mouth interferes with breathing. Then the person essentially stops breathing, sort of wakes up, and restarts breathing, over and over at night. Then they're exhausted during the day because they don't get a lot of sleep, so they eat to stay awake, and the cycle gets worse. A person who's both overweight and tired should see a doctor to be evaluated for this, and there's also a sleep apnea association in Washington, DC.

The simple answer is Yes, alot. We are lifting ourselves up every time we move and even when we are not moving, the weight is pulling us down (like during sleeping)

Try a program to help you lose weight and gain muscles.
