There seem to be no significant improvement in the rising violence and terrorism in Iraq and there is a growing feelings among the Americans of pulling out of the American troops in Iraq.

iraq will loose government power. we're keeping iraq in charge till they can handle it on their own.......its not all about iraq, just remeber 1000's of innocent people got killed by terroist from another country on 9 11, thats the main reson we are there, to protect our country, bush says "if we leave now, we will fail, if we leave, the enemy will follow, and we'll look weak"....the U.S. is the last and only remaining super power. we are the strongest most powerful country, so it would look weak and embarassing to leave iraq and fail our mission. but when our country gets attcked like that, we HAVE to respond.
because of bush...so far....saddam is killed by his own country. iraqs are voting for democracy for the first time. there are way more deaths of enemy soilders than u.s. deaths.

The first thing that is likely to happen is that the Iraqi government will fall. This leaves the Kurds in a lurch and opens the door for the Kurds trying to form their own state...

...a situation the Turks and the Iranians really don't want to have to face because it makes for a base of support for their own Kurdish populations' separatist tendency.

Second, there will be a lot of scores to be settled, as they have been being somewhat settled, between the sects and warlords inside Iraq. The Iranians are already supportive of this as it keeps Iraq weaker and promotes the Iranian national defense. The Syrians will probably be pulled into it also...

The Saudis are going to have to get involved, probably by supporting a selected Iraqi militia or two in an effort to minimize and/or control the border between Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

Oil prices will go up as Iraqi oil producing facilities become a target and are less protected. This raises the market value of Iranian resources which complicates dealing with them.

Iraq will likely become a lot like Lebanon except larger with more outside support for sects.

Al Queda recruiting will likely go up as well as the probability of cells as in the one that was casing Fort Dix as the withdrawal communicates an inability on the Americans' part to come through in a pinch. The UK and probably Spain will also likely see similar increases in small attacks.

This increases the likelihood of other successful attacks and the potential for more warfare, probably more along the lines of Special Operations and Foreign Internal Defense missions in other countries in the region and around the world.

Additionally, the world economy that depends on a relatively constant and secure environment is likely to evolve back into a regional or select system which may boost American prices at home and produce shortages in other countries that are of marginal security.

The European Union may be expected to assume some of the security roles that US forces have adopted in recent history and may have to re-militarize to accomplish it.

About the only ones to probably reap a tangible benefit will be the Israelis as regional attentions and concern shifts toward the warfare in Iraq and attention shifts away from Southern Lebanon and the Palestinians...

Talban will take over the country, including authoritied, (i am british living in the sates) we r over there to build and help them maintain there own forces. It effects the whole world, taleban are like bullies in a certain way, bin laden is the leader, look at what they have done in the small numbers they have now, sept 11, london 7/7, e have to prevent this, we rely on the eastern part of the worl dfor fuel and things, so if the taleban takes over see the gas prices rocket, only be a matter of time they block our supply completely and we be walking. There are improvements, problem was the british and americans rushed into it, we was nieve to think that we could dominate such a large area with such few people, it seemed a lot more realistic theoretically, i believe a whole new plan needs layed out, rather than replishing the fallen service men. bin Laden threatened the UK tostop assisting the US IN IRAQ AND AFGANISTAN, we said allies til the end, and got 52 peple killed, unforunately human rights stops authorities stopping anything, u cant just jam in every home with no evidence, now the taliban are bombing their own country while we are there, indirectly brainwashing the iraq and afganistanians again the west, as if we are causing the bombings.

who knows really? They're not any worse people than you or I, most people aren't into that kind of thing. Guns could be put away and everybody goes on. Should have elections after we leave, let the govt turn over a couple times. Mix them all into the beauracracy. America never intends to leave. I bet you everything I own they will build a base and stay there more or less forever or until something drastic happens. Like all of our bases, in cuba, phillipenes, germany, now Iraq or Afgahnistan. Both if they can get it, right. Going home was never part of the plan. I wonder who knew and when, wonder if they ever told the GI's. There is something to watch, have to write it down.

Ok, it goes like this. Troops get pulled out, we lose face we fail. The insurgents reclaim their old regime, or a new regime just as bad takes its place. Now we have ourselves a new sadam regime, pull one weed out for another to grow in its place. SOLUTION: Forget this, bush cant and wont win. The only solution to win is ugly and US wont and cant do it. So let the country go back to the iraqis, ban the iraqis from leaving the country. BOost border guarding and hope the soldiers can keep too many terrorists from exiting and entering. come on just watch we will pull out, we will withdraw without a clean victory mark my words. If we stay we might as well take up residence, because this job we better pack lunches for the next 10-20 years.

Well no matter what they do where they are, they made the statement that they will try to find a way to kill as many US soldiers.
Like that group trying to get in on a Military base to kill the soldiers.
Just pull them out, rethink, re build, get a smarter president and leave Iraq the hell alone. Things will be the same now as it will be in September. Bush's support group he has with him will fall apart.

Let them two groups over there destroy each other. Ain't our fault the Iraqi army are scared to do the job they signed up for.

Oh i forgot to mention WE HAVE OUR OWN FREAKING PROBLEMS TO DEAL WITH, hey Mr. President can you focus on the real important thing here, the USA needs some help so stop waisting money on a war that is lost and has no benefits for us in the end. You already made it difficult for the National Guard to clean up the Natural Disasters that happen and that are going to happen.

Had to vent

Let me put it this way. Saddam blew up terrorists. A lot. He also killed innocent people, so he wasn't by any means decent. Al Queda (which is a WORLD WIDE organization with many different groups combined, some of them funded by US interests) for the most part didn't mess with Iraq out of fear for Saddam and his secular government. Now that we blew up Iraq and gutted their government like a fish, we want to continue the secular government, when the people want their original theocratic society. Car bombs are going off right now because people are engraged that the US is there. It has NOTHING to do with their "envy and hatred" for our freedom. That's just stupid. There is a minority of people that are hopeful for the US. Did you know that Many many people voted for Saddam in their last "election"? A little ridiculous, but that just goes to show how much grey area there is. As soon as we pull out, the US will figure out some other catastrophe to happen in America to prove its point..... that Americans are completely dependent on their government, and that imperialism in the middle east is the only way to go ( according to the US government). It was Eisenhower's big plan. We need to have an open forum to talk about the war and why we're really there. The fact that they're so secretive for "National Security" further proves the point how much they don't respect our voice.

The moment we pull out, all the rulers of Iraq's neighbors will start shifting their butts in discomfort, realizing thst they can no longer use American soldiers as their pawns to sustain their dreams of feeding into the Iraqi Oil Wealth! Expect them to send their own Troops and their own money to keep their own borders safe! Perhaps, they will let all their bad hats infilterate into Iraq to fight to their deaths, and then blow Iraq to bits! Not a bad idea for destroying all they deem as terrorists in their nations. If Bush and the NeoCons are correct that the terrorists are flooding into Iraq, why should we leave our soldiers to be their shooting targets?

Let our troops get out. Let all the terrorists flood Iraq, and we can even help the Middle Eastern nations by nuking Iraq for them to get rid of all their terrorists!

Whatever the level of blood to be spilled will be, the blood of valiant U.S. soldiers won't be included.

We are an unwelcome presence.

So is the Taliban.

Once we leave, the Taliban will be asked and/or forced to leave as well.

We need to beef-up our presence and our mission in Afghanistan for the next 20 years if necessary.

The entire region needs to resolve its own problems no mater how potentially large the blood-bath will be.

We were quite content to see Iran and Iraq fight a war that lasted 9 years.

That was when Saddam was our buddy!

That is when Donald Rumsfeld is seen smiling and shaking hands with Saddam.

"The enemy of our enemy is our friend" ???????

Let us get out of Iraq and let the situation get sorted out by the countries that exist there!

Probably not the scenario the prophets of gloom and doom have said will occur. I don't think the Middle East will be overrun by wild-eyed crazed terrorists thirsting for American blood. The politicos predicted southeast Asia would fall to the communists due to the so-called "Domino Theory" if we lost in Vietnam four decades ago, and look where we are now. Vietnam is a full trading partner with the U.S. with full diplomatic relations restored, and most of southeast Asia is still relatively free.
