i understand to pay for my share and i think it's fair but i just feel like he could treat me sometimes (he has treated me in past but less than 10 times and we've been together for a year. we go eat out often) or buy me something... i am not from this country,so i wanted to know if it's normal for couples in this country and i'm just been old fashion and over reacting or he's just been cheap...

You're not over reacting. This behaviour might be normal for the first few month you date but not for a year. Things should be both sided. If he earns more and he wants to go out or eat out then he should have the courtessy to pay. Maybe you should just say once and a while that you cant afford to do what ever he wants to do. After a little bit, if he wants to go out or whatever he will pay for you too. Good luck.

It doesn't sound like you're overreacting, but it sounds like something other than "cheap." If he were cheap, then he wouldn't be willing to go out to eat so often. Before you jump to any conclusions, you need more information about it. If you haven't discussed it already, maybe you can ask him to tell you more about what paying for a woman's meal or buying her things means in the culture he comes from. But, you have to be willing to hear him with an open mind because the explanation could be something that never even crossed your mind.

Oh, does he treat you coldly? You should know that there are different types of guys out there, some are "play boy" that flirts around, some are those that doesn't know how to expression therefeelings so doesn't know what you like or they know but doesn't know what to buy for you. Ok, after telling you the two most basic types of guys, I guess you would know what to do... Whatever you choose to do, I wish you all the best!

When money becomes so important in your relationship, I would be questioning if this is the right relationship to continue. Though I have been married more than half of my life, we never discussed his and my money while we were dating or after we got married. Sounds like you may want a new relationship.

What country is that?
Is he paying off a house?
Is he saving up for your marriage?
Is he saving up so that he can provide for you and your children?
There are many other things in life other than 'treating' your girlfriend.
If he truly loves you and treats you like a gentleman and honours you then he is a gem and you should respect his way of using his money.
Just read about all the abuse that so many women get and you will realise how lucky you probably are.

Is he a Virgo?

Run now while you can. If you should marry him, be prepare for more money problems ( not due to lack of money, but attitude wise).

He is just Mr. El - Cheapo!!

You have been warned!

PS: How does he treat his mum? I bet he is cheap there too! His friends? Watch out!!

He is taking advantage of your naivete`, and generosity. He is sticking around because he hasn't found anyone to pay for everything for him. I know it sounds hard, but that's the truth. There are better men out there. Find one you like better. A relationship should not be a burden, but a joy.

i like treating my bf out, but he does the same for me. he use to try to always pay the bill, but i told him i didn't like that so he lets me pay whenever i want. your bf might be a little cheap when it comes to paying for the tab in my opinion.
