My 1989 Toyota Camry runs at 3K RPM when driving 75-80Mph. Is this normal for an old car? I know that my transmission is shifting just fine.

Not abnormal? Good. I was hoping it was not. I know my truck which is an '05 Chevy and It only runs around 1700 RPM when doing the same speed

Mine is the 6 Banger. Overdrive, power drive. I never really use the power drive though. It'll eat gas even quicker!

i have owned a 1989 camry just last month (traded it for my 85 supra)and that is alittle high for that as mine would do 75 at 2800 with 14" tires some camrys do come with 13" and that will make it rev higher. my 85 supra will do 100 at 3000 but that is a i6 and a 5 speed.

As long as your torque converter is locking up the rpm should be fine...sounds accurate, especially if it's the 4 banger. My cressida with 2.8 I-6 turns about 2750 at 75.
