and can anyone truly believe in that religion if it allows such atrocities?
I want people of that religion (which I personally won't name) to defend their laws.

They were Yezidis.
Yezidis are basically satan worshipers. They figured out that a girl in their tribe was in love with a Muslim boy. So they attacked her house... dragged her out... and stoned her to death.
The cops were standing in the crowd and they were watching!!!!!!!!

To the ones above me here who say that the Christians stoned people because it is in the OT. The OT was the Jewish law. There were no Christian stonings. That was a Jewish thing. And it is not done any more by them either. So why should other people do it? It is a outdated barbaric thing and no rational human being living in the 21 century anywhere in the world should still practice such a thing. Religion or no religion we as human beings need to evolve to a new level of understanding. We need to have respect for all people. And no where is this more important than for those who claim to follow God. If God made us, what right do we have to do violence to one of His children?

Sure. And I would like to know why Christians defend their god ordering stonings in the Old Testement, for such things as picking up sticks on the wrong day of the week.

Morality never changes, remember? Christians say they believe in "moral absolutes" - so I'd like to understand why they can be horrified at one stoning and defend another?

I'm a muslim, and I already read the entire Koran.
I can guarantee you that there's no single verse in Koran regarding stoning to death. So I don't know exactly why the Kurdish killed the girl by stoning. One thing for sure, they didn't do it based on Koran.

I don't believe it's religion. I think it's insanity, pure and simple. And once that kind of insanity gets ahold of a mob, this is what can happen.
