What about the entire Gospel of John, where the theme is belief? Paul even has a lot to say about faith. There are definitely lessons in doctrine, but just going through the motions is not what Christianity is about. It takes faith for a relationship with God, and that's also what the Bible encourages.

However, if we do not contiue to activate our faith, we become luke warm, and then cool, and this is what happens to saints in church, with personalitys, and more issues. Also a person can go to church for years, and believe on the lord Jesus Christ, and not really become changed, or walk in the spirit,of GOD, because they are not activateing their faith, with belief. therefore they do many things a person who is walking in the faith can not do, and not knowing they have caused harm, and grieved the spirit.
