Literally translates to "goodbye illusions" but in spanish 'ilusión(es)' could mean a myriad of things like: dreams, hopes, fantasies or wishes. 'Illusion' in english has more of a false connotation like a deception or a blurried reality but in spanish it is a positive thing as to look forward to something or to acquire desires. For example the phrase "¡Que ilusión!" means "How wonderful !" "How exciting!" or "Fantastic!". But the idiom "Adios ilusiones" (without accent on the o when plural) is an exclamation of discontent or dissapointment. A girl might say that after breaking up with her boyfriend or a man might say that after being fired from a job or losing out on a promotion or a bad investment per say. "So much for hope" or other equivalents are "I give up" "that's that" " "Oh well" "wasn't meant to be" "what a flop" "lost everything" "So much for dreaming" it is an exclamation usually said to oneself or it is sometimes a thought. It really isn't shouted or said amongst people it is used in a sullen way. It could be found in a letter, in poetry or said in a "telenovela" (spanish soap opera) it's sort of dramatic. One positive proverb is from Aristotle "Hope is a waking dream" en español "La esperanza es el sueño del hombre despierto." (Aristóteles)

Goodbye illusions

It's funny because it also sounds like "A dios ilusiones" which means you hallucinate God.

It's the same deal as amarte duele which would mean "loving you hurts" (amarte duele) and "to love hurts" (amar te duele)
