No, I just like burning fossil fuel at a ridiculous rate. I actually get 9 mpg on my Hummer. Thats good mileage.

My read end? What's that? My eyes?
No. I hate SUV's. I drive my pick up truck to the grocery store... I go to the grocery store either right before work or right after work... Have no idea how much my pick up truck weighs.
My eyes certainly do not weigh 150 pounds... although.... that WOULD explain the headaches...

Dont generalize, not all people who drive suvs use it as a grocery getter. When we got our Explorer we worked on the road and had to live in motels. We needed the room for our luggage and other things we needed with us. Now we are working locally and only drive to our job. We walk alot.

I always laugh when I see people sitting in traffic every day in high-end cars "commuting" to work too, because they are doing the same 5mph as the Geo Metro next to them! Unreal. And this applies to your SUV question too, I love seeing 1 person driving alone in a 9-seater, 2 hours to work too, that's real efficient! Then they wonder why gas is so expensive and why these companies just take advantage of their ignorance. I, myself, am researching how to get E100 (100% ethanol) and biodiesel into use in my community. I'm tired of being gouged at the pumps and using what should be obsolete, oil.

Apparently in the state of New York, 3 out of 5 hit and run accidents are caused by people in SUV's... whereas only 1 out of 5 vehicles fall into that category. Yeah, SUV owners have the right to be stupid... but from daily observation, I see that they are selfish, arrogant creeps who think themselves above the law, and abuse the highways for their own glory.
I love to watch them run lights while yakking cell phones; it inspires me to ignore the laws I choose to dislike. Rather liberating.

I presume you are talking about my 'rear' end. Yes I do need my suv. It is paid for and I can't afford to buy anything else. Not quite 150 pounds though!!!

With the price of gas, they all will be "eating" their Hummers.
About 70% of the S.U.V.'s never leave the road. 50% don't use their four wheel drives.
With 70% of them being "leased," they don't want to get them
"scratched." The ones that bought one won't be able to sell it.
Most can't even get them in their garage, and end up wiping
the snow off in the winter. If you think that is bad, wait until one
needs a tire change. They will have a heart attack and have
to sell it to pay for their heart surgary. WHAT A WASTE!!!

It depends.
When I am at home, I usually use my bike or walk for little errands. Less than 20 pounds to carry and/or less than 5 miles away.
I only pull out the Denali to go to Costco and load up.
