If a person truly believes in Islam, then they will be proud of it. There is nothing to be embarrassed about. Terrorism is not promoted in Islam and many other issues that are brought up against Islam are really just differences in culture. Western cultures simply have a tendency to believe that they have a superior way of thinking and behaving, and so they look down upon other cultures and call them "oppressive", but they call themselves "priviledged".
I think many Muslims wish that people would stop killing in Allah's name, but they are not embarrassed of their religion.

How can i be embarrassed. Islam is a solution for those countries have problems with; Alcholism, insest, illegitimate children, lesbian sex and so on...islam is your solution, espacialy insest; how could you do it to your own daughter, whoever does this worse than animal!!! So stop blaming islam. I'm also calling non-muslim people here to read Qoran even for 1 time! Becouse we cant decide directly what we didnt compare with.
They say in Qoran its written "..kill any disbeliever" or something like that, let me tell you right now this accusation is false; forexample Islam is an act of religion, lifestyle; hence there are many verses in Qoran about praying, but see this one; "..do not pray". this is a verse, if you take thisone only we muslim people shouldnt pray at all, but when you keep reading the next verse saying "..while you are drunk". its just an example, im inviting you to read the Qoran.

I'm not muslim though I have been raised in that culture..I dont really like what any religion offers or orders..I'm capable of finding the truth with no external help. Even if I have kept on believing (for my identity card still says I'm a muslim) I wouldnt be so proud..For there are many things I disapprove off in Islam, but the same is valid for all other religions, they are all man productions..and full of absurd dogmas that one cannot struggle with..because they are dictated to be the words of god...sir no..I dont agree

The ones I know are proud to be Muslim. And the ones I know are not trying to SHOW (off?) everyone that they're muslim. They don't need to SAY it on every occasion. I mean they don't have to PROVE anything to anybody. They don't come here and post questions just to let people know that they're "good muslim". They don't have such COMPLEXES.
Sanıyorum ki Allah'ın bilmesi yeterli. Kimseye bir Åey ispatlamaya gerek yok. Bana da nedense her fırsatta kendi müslümanlıÄını öven insanlar samimiyetsiz geliyor. Ne ispatlamaya çalıÅıyorlarsa artık bilemem....

i think religion is not a thing that can be proud of,because it is a abstract though not concrete so we can't be proud of our religion,we just agree with the ideas that our religion supports so it can't be explained by the word " proud "
