Ignorance!!! People tend to criticize what they do not understand. Also, the fact that most non Catholics learn about the teachings of the Catholic Church from other non Catholics who are just as ignorant of its teachings as they are.
God bless,
Stanbo
P.S. Catholics, go ahead and let them criticize us. The Bible tells us in the Beatitudes "Blessed are the who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of God."

Really, a lot of it comes from erroneous teachings about what Catholics actually believe. There are even people out there who seriously believe those anti-Catholic tracts by Jack Chick. They hear a preacher, acquaintance or family member say something about the Catholic Church, and rather than seriously investigating it, they start repeating it, instead, and that's how bogus information gets circulated over and over again.

I'm not sure. Some Catholics can be a bit extreme, which might turn people off. Others might be miss-informed about the Catholic faith. Sometimes its hard being a Catholic, always being attacked. Of course, some other religions don't have it much better.

Some folks think the statues are idols, and Catholics worship them. I don't believe that, I believe they are merely symbols for worship. It's absolutely wrong to put Jesus at the foot of His mother, Mary, as I've seen on many Catholic altars. Jesus was His own mother's Lord and Savior, you know.
I seldom see a Catholic with true life change. Most of the ones I know are hispanic, and are worst sinners and drunks than non-Christians. They then go to mass on Sunday, confess it and get forgiveness, then do it all over again. No life change apparent, no relationship with Jesus. Just meaningless ritual. No offense intended. You did ask.

It is the same as the Catholics having prejudices to other Christian religious denominations. The feeling is equally mutual because of the teachings on each side and orienting each that those who do not belong to them is bound for hell. Did you ever hear one of them says everyone is safe?

Catholics would not share the Word of God with the common man, that is why King James I, wanted a Holy Bible for his people. Attacks of the Priests against little boys, there seems to be a large amount of perverted sex, and not allowing natural sex ?

For the same reason people are prejudiced about anything, it's not what they believe.
