The reports say that there is approximately 150 000 troops in Iraq right now. Some have been there more than the 12 to 15 months, will they be coming home now?

My guy is a marine and has been there for 14 months and not due out for another 10 months or so.

I was hoping. I hope this 'surge' works then our loved ones can return safely.

God Bless Our Troops!!!

The 35,000 troops that have been alerted for deployment recently that you've heard about in the news are due for a normal rotation in the late summer or fall of this year.
Try to take what you hear and see on the news with a grain of salt, they have a way of skewing information into the worst possible interpretation.

This is part of the "surge" that is supposed to stabilize conditions in Iraq. It is not meant to be 1-for-1 replacement for troops already there. In fact, the standard tour of duty has been extended. I think from 12 months to 15 months. It's sounding more and more like Viet Nam from my era. For anyone who cares, yes, I am a veteran.

The magic 8 ball says No.

Try again in 18 months.

So says the Bush Administration.

Instead of regular soldiers, how about elite special forces. Because they help win wars.
