about 2 weeks ago i got a stye in my left eye which is quite unusual for me because ive never gotten any since maybe i was a child. anyways, i didnt think much of it, it went away after like a week. so then like 3 days ago another came up on my right eye this time. i keep putting hot rags to it to try and make it pop or whatever faster.
anyways what i was wondering is, do you think i should go to the doctor over it? i dont really know too much about styes since i never get any until now

thanks for your answers!

I used to get styes a lot, too! I don't get them as often anymore, but when I do, I throw away my eyeliner and mascara. It really helps, since most styes are caused by bacterial infections, which can linger in your eye makeup.
Also, there is a great oinment to relieve the itch and pain related with a stye, which is called (ironically) "Stye." =) It can be found in the pharmacy area of any wal mart, usually near the contact lens solutions. The ointment is kind of messy, but it really helps the pain! The packaging says that it only helps with the symptoms and doesn't cure the stye, but I swear, it makes them go away faster. (Perhaps that's because I'm less tempted to stick my finger in my eye when I've used the ointment...)
haha, anyway, good luck! I know those things suck!

Here's some info on styes:

and P.S. you are doing the right thing by applying a warm washcloth to your eye! besides that, using Stye ointment, and throwing away your eye makeup, there's not much else you can do for them.

Continue with the hot compresses, and wash your face twice a day with antibacterial soap. Dont try to "pop" it. Dont wear make up on your eyes until it goes away. Also, if you wear make-up replace it, and the brushes that you use to apply it with. I dont think you need to see a doctor for a stye tho, unless you have one that doesn't go away, or gets worse.

I get those annoying things all the time. Keep putting hot rags on it though and that will help it go down. I wouldn't pop it though because this could cause an infection of some sort. It comes from an infected eyelash I think. It wouldn't hurt for you to go see a doctor. I wouldn't go though unless it is hurting you.

if you wear eye makeup you may want to throw it out and get new makeup. Keep up the warm compresses and put neosporin on your eyelids at bedtime. If you continue to get new styes go to the Dr of course.
