...Or is that a myth... do you have any sources to back up your answer?

Possibly if you shave it, but waxing does not cause that. It takes longer to grow back and it is not any coarser than before. It's worth it to go to a salon to have it done. They have the technique down pat, and it will be much easier than trying to do it yourself. It costs about $10 to have it done, but it will last a long time...longer than most other methods.

im not exactly sure but I heard it was a myth. Don't shave uppoer lip hair because it will feel prickly like legs which you do not want... which might seem like it is growing back coarser... but instead try a hair removal creme (make sure it is made to be used on the face) and it should remove the hair nicely so when it grows back it will still be soft.

No. I read stuff like that in various magazines. One that made the most sense said that the hair appears coarser because how it looks when it first grows out. It appears thick when it really isn't. If that were the case we'd all have really thick mustaches and shave our legs all the time.

It is not true. Get rid of upper lip hair. The best way to do it is with waxing. Every time you have the area waxed, some of the hair follicles are damaged and the hair will get thinner and finer. Good luck.

its a myth contributed to men telling younger males to shave more and it will grow thicker. the truth is that it gets thicker because the male or female is getting older and maturing. the older you get the thicker it will get.

also when you shave the hair grows back with a flat edge and looks thicker. it will be course

when you wax or use a product like veet or neat. the hair grows naturally with a tapered end and looks thinner, and will be softer to the touch

yeah it'll grow back a little coarser, and faster. but waxing is worse, it'll grow back even thicker, and if ur skin is sensitive, u'll break out above ur lip. the best thing is to pluck it even if it does grow back a little coarser.

I pluck mine a couple of times a month (a total of 10- 15 hairs each time)...So, basically plucking is the best way to go because you are pulling out the hair by it's root. It may be painful, the first few times (it was for me), but eventually you won't notice it so much.

The biggest pay off is the hair gets sparser and sparser.

comparable here! its stressful, yet I honestly have tried - waxing, tweezers and shaving. and my suggestion is WAX it with the veet strips for face, heavily the hair gets weaker in time and can stay hairless for 4-6 weeks mine is alot much less now than 3 years in the past, till now i many times waxed it i used tweezers took forever and in basic terms lasted 2-3 weeks, and shaving one million-2 days! u could presuade ur mum to enable u wax it, or do exactly it and dont tell her! i wax yet under no circumstances extremely advised my mum she purely presumes i shave which i dont anymore as under no circumstances lasts long sufficient. yet careful if u wax it, as quickly as I first did it i many times did the area and it burnt for an afternoon like hell! then all burnt pores and skin became into terrible! yet i continually continually use soothing oil afterwards now to sidestep that, so my suggestion is WAX it yet continually use soothing oil or bio oil etc afterwards if not it is going to burn if not completed heavily sufficient
