Jesus is DEAD and his skin has long since rotted off his body. No skin color. But yeah, he wasn't white that's for sure. Can you imagine what right-wing conservatists would think if they found out they were worshiping a Middle-Eastern hippie liberal Jew? Hell, even if there was a second coming, Jesus would be shot on the spot for being a supposed terrorist.

I won't get offended. But I don't think he's black - as in a person from Africa. At the same time I don't htink He's white - ie from Scandanavia, either. There's a picture by Del Parson that I really like of the Savior. He's got brown hair and eyes, is darker complected than most of the other pictures I've seen of Him, yet he does have features that are more ... European.
I'll try to find the link and post it.

No I wouldn't be offended, my Lord was olive skinned, and probably sun browned very deeply. He had short black hair and most likely a beard. His hands were calloused, his feet rough with walking and undoubtedly very sinuous in body mass.
As for the blue eyed blond from all of the past paintings? European Caucasians commissioned the works from European Caucasian artists. What would you expect?

There were black people in that region at the time, so why not? I wouldn't be offended by someone saying Jesus was black or middle eastern. The "Italian Jesus" is such an absurd idea anyway.

No. People present Jesus as every man. A black Catholic church in Chicago had a black Jesus. Oriental churches show Jesus with Oriental feastures.
It is just that most of our religious art comes from Europe and naturally he would like them.

No, why would I be offended if you see Jesus differently than me? I picture Him as Jewish, but Jesus is God in the flesh and God is concerned about the heart not the skin color. There were black Jews in Jesus day also, so who knows and really who cares!!

there are many depictions of Jesus, including black ones, ones with distinctively middle-Eastern features, laughing ones (first published in Playboy, very scandalous at the time), and of course those Aryan ones we are all so familiar with.
He was a guy who lived in the desert - just think of the sunburn the poor guy would have had if he were really that white! (Of course, I guess he would have been able to heal himself....!) :)

No, I wouldn't be offended at all. I've seen pictures of Christ represented as many different ethnicities. He was likely brown skinned with brown eyes.
