15 is a tough age, your body is still developing and you may not have hit your growth spurt yet when you will start to add more muscle mass and lose body fat. There are zillions of things you can do without paying money. Running is free and that always burns calories. However I strongly believe the best way to lose fat is through strength training and cardiovascular training combined. Through strength training you will add muscle mass and the more muscle on your body, the more calories you will burn at rest and while sleeping so you turn your body into a fat-burning machine. A gym is always great because of the variety of equipment. Still, even without one there are so many things you can do--pushups, situps, etc. If you don't join a gym you can still invest in some equipment that will be high yield for very little cash. Some small dumbbells like 10 lbs would be great. Also you can get an ab-wheel in a sporting goods store for 5 or 10 bucks and these things DO work. They tear up your abs as well as your shoulders, back, chest, and arms. It's good you recognize this at 15, it means you can change yourself. The longer you wait the harder it becomes to change, and the more fat cells you gain which you are stuck with for the rest of your life!

Try to cut down on fattening foods. The best exercise is an ablounger for your mid area. If you don't have acces to one, try basic muscle retension and extension. It is easy, free and not hard on you like sit ups. In fact, sit ups are no onger recommended for girls. They cause toomuch strain on the back, tailbone and spine. I know that just simple "sucking it in" technique sounds too good to be true. Believe me though that if you do a set of 30 or so every chance you get, it will work! Results will show in aprox. a month. Try it ! What do you have to lose? (Other than that belly) No pun intended.
I have done this...could use it again myself. It really tones up the abdominal area.
Good luck!

Some guy, it's actually less healthy to be underweight than to be overweight. Many underweight people aren't as able to fight off diseases nor do they have the stamina of heavier people. Also, if you are too thin, your body will cannibalize itself in a desperate search for protein. That includes literally eating away at the heart. That's why many anorexics end up dying from heart attacks. Anorexia or bulimia nervosa are not chosen behaviors. They are the result of long-standing emotional issues with the sufferers. People who suffer from them tend to have low self-esteem, are perfectionists, feel they have little control over their lives, and want to please other people all the time. They have little or nothing to do with the media's portrayal of the ideal beauty standards for women. These eating disorders are completely separate issues. You can't tell an anorexic to start eating nor can you tell a bulimic to stop bingeing and purging. You have to treat the underlying issues that are causing these problems. Anorexics will simply find ways to avoid eating or get the food out of their bodies while bulimics will find more clever ways to cover up their activities. I lived with a bulimic so I know what this eating disorder looks like and what people with it are capable of doing. Also, every time I see the childish "No fat chicks" comments, it makes me want to respond with "No short dudes". In my case it means someone who is 5'10" or less because I am taller than he is.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

ok listen, ive beeen on a diet for quite sometime and have lost some all over. ive been on a vegitarian diet and walked for 30 min a day and done 200 crunches aswell. this has cut down my stomach. even without eating just fruits and veg. it will also help if you choose a better diet plan. this will work tremindously ( if thats how you spell it) within a week. im also a teenager and i know what ur goin through.

be sure you have good posture. although having a straight back all the time isn't necessary, better posture could help bring your stomach over your center of gravity. this is almost instantanious. it will get easier with practice.

doing pilates might help. you will develop more 'core msucles', which are around your midsection and will either tighten up your abs or will help with your posture.

if you think that there might be something wrong, besides eating and exercising habits, see a doctor.

does your family hold weight in the belly? may be inherited from them. usually a belly will swell from ibs or the foods you are eating. eat nothing that ferments in your body! no wine vinegar, etc. eat celery, watermelon, juicy stuff-lettuce cilantro no white bread..good luck! also if you walk 15 mins daily kinda fast you'll see a big difference* stay away from mexican foods!
